Looking north from one end of the upper lake as the peaks of Twin Peaks poke over the horizon and reflect on the lake...

Even the Moose are out enjoying this beautiful Fall season. I ran into this guy the other day while hiking around Solitude Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon. He was nice enough to say hi and stick around just long enough for me to get a photo before he quickly ducked behind a bunch of other trees.

The inversion may be settled in throughout the SL Valley, but the skies are a beautiful blue and the air is crisp and clean up in the mountains, so don't get trapped in your house all winter long.... Get out and experience winter above the smog! There is endless terrain to be explored only a short drive away!

Taken @ Dodger Stadium on July 8, 1980. Since the scan came from a photo, there was some clean up to do. I also added the National League and the 1980 All Star logos to the bottom of the image.

At the beginning of each semester at the University of Utah the fraternity Sigma Gamma Chi puts on a carnival for Rush Week. Each chapter of the fraternity runs some kind of booth or something for people to come enjoy and check out. The Pi chapter of Sigma Gamma Chi has a mechanical bull every semester and it is always a favorite.

This looks much better as a larger image!

The statue of Mike Schmidt, by Zenos Frudakis of Glenside, Pennsylvania, was erected outside the Third Base gate of Citizens Bank Park in 2004. Frudakis was commissioned to sculpt ten-foot bronze statues of four legendary Philadelphia Phillies for the new park--Steve Carlton sits at the Left Field gate, Robin Roberts sits at the First Base Gate, and Richie Ashburn sits in Ashburn Alley beyond center field.

Mike Schmidt played his entire career, from 1972 through 1989, with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a 3-time NL MVP, 12-time All-Star selection, 10-time Gold Glove Award winner, 6-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and 1980 World Series MVP. After retiring from major league baseball with 548 home runs, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995, and elected as the third baseman on 1999's Major League Baseball All-Century team. The Phillies retired his #20.

We attended the 2008 MLB All-Star Game in Yankee Stadium in New York. 49 of the 64 living Hall of Fame Baseball Players were introduced in a very special ceremony by their positions. Alex Rodriguez "A-Rod" meets the 3rd Basemen. Representing the National League All-Stars is Chipper Jones of the Atlanta Braves. Next to him are - Brooks Robinson, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Wade Boggs.

This is the ancient Mayan Palace at the ancient city of Palenque, Mexico that sits high on the mountain side overlooking the valley. This city was was lost to modern civilization and known only as a legend for a long, long time until after many years of searching it was found. All of the city has been unearthed yet. I can only imagine what this palace would have looked like back in the day when this city was in its prime. It would have been awesome to see.

The other week I went out to the Bonneville Salt Flats with a few people to help a friend with a photo project. I brought my camera along and this is one of the shots I was able to get from our outing.

I took this during Fan Photo Night at the old Vet Stadium in Philadelpha of Hall Of Famer Mike Schmidt during the early 1980's.

Jake going big off a kicker in some sweet Brighton backcountry. This was a great powder day!

I went and took pictures of the 6th graders at Cottonwood Elementary for a slideshow they will have when they graduate at the end of the school year. This is just one of the many pictures that will appear in the slideshow.

This is a shot I took a while back that I came across while looking through some old files on my hard drive. It is a different angle and crop from a picture I took and posted a while back of the same scene.

Kristin Ward and her sister Sarah Ward show off some school spirit in The MUSS before the Blackout game against Oregon State at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.

My favorite place on earth...

I shot this a couple years back at the tailgate before the Wyoming vs Utah football game at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game was played on Halloween night so The MUSS (Mighty Utah Student Section) held a costume contest as part of the "Black-out" themed game. This year the Utes will be playing on Halloween weekend again and the theme will once again be a "Black-out." Can't wait to see what costumes people come up with this year!
