Midsummer on the river

This time there is just no excuse.

 

WL1600 in strip bank to left of camera triggered via pocket wizards. 580ex with yellow gel to right of camera triggered manually.

  

This was created with an idea if a typical Swedish midsummer hair outfit. But with a glamour twist.

Swedish tradition for Midsummer’s eve is “to pick seven wild flowers and sleep with them under your pillow, in order to dream of your one true love.”

 

I knew nothing of this observance, and found it all quite delightful. Glad someone suggested this hunt item. ANSH: midsummer’s Eve

It was a rainy midsummer but I managed to get this photoshoot of Samelia doing some midsummer magic and lighting a bonfire. Sun even started shining after 10pm which was nice.

I told you, Artsy is often clueless...

The concept behind this photograph was inspired by the fairies, magic and sleeping lovers of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’. Its true meaning is intentionally left ambiguous, for when one falls asleep one creates worlds of their own.
