Azorica..latin, meaning from the Azores.
Green, green pastures surrounded by rough tumbling lava stone walls, that appear to grow out of the earth itself, teeming with unending clusters of lush hydrangea flowers in all imaginable tones of blues, pinks and white. (check out my blog for Azores images.. middleearths.blogspot.com)
This setting is the 'ex libris' of the Azores Islands (where I live and create MiddleEarths Jewels).
This necklace is the second of the 'Azorica ex libris' series...soft blue hydrangea flowers spilling over an earthy brown lava stone focal.
Expand your Battle of the Five Armies with this additional structure! Defend the ruined city and its narrow streets! Includes Bard the Bowman (why not include since every other lego set seemed to include him ;)) a Laketown guard, two orcs and an eagle.
Another MOC made more fit with legos line of Hobbit and LOTR sets.

Historical note: A Gondorian fortification at the southern end of the Misty Mountains, at the source of the River Isen. It was granted to the Wizard Saruman by Steward Beren of Gondor, and destroyed by the Ents during the War of the Ring, though its central tower of Orthanc remained standing.
Notes
1 At least, it was built by Men and maintained by them for most of its history. Saruman, though, was not a Man - he was a Wizard, and hence of the 'race' of the Ainur.
2 Isengard wasn't literally made of iron, of course - the word isen, 'iron', refers to the exceedingly hard rock from which it was actually made.

Large 15mm/18mm scale (roughly 1:100)
Dwarves are from Eureka Miniatures 18mm fantasy range.
I paint the miniatures and usually build the terrain but this is another attempt at photographing my miniatures outside.
Large 15mm/18mm scale (roughly 1:100)
I paint the miniatures and build the terrain. It is mostly scratch-built except for the trees which are bought but usually improved or converted to some extent.
The houses are made of card, modelling plaster with fake fur (teddy bear fur) thatch roofs.
"...You will have to leave the open road after tonight; for the horsemen will watch it night and day. You may escape from Bree, and be allowed to go forward while the Sun is up; but you won't go far. They will come on you in the wild, in some dark place where there is no help. Do you wish them to find you? They are terrible!' " - Aragorn, from "The Fellowship of the Ring" by J.R.R. Tolkien

These are my last few days being a first year here at UCI
Its been a decent year, with its ups and downs.
In about a week I`ll say goodbye to all of this, and by this, I mean this hall, this room. To me this hall represents all the laughter and fun of my first year in college. It signifies the tears and mistakes I had made. So much happiness, and so much regret, conceived in this hall. I`ll miss the ease of walking down the hall to find company and my hallmates eating a huge pot of ramen in the middle of our third floor common room.
It`s been something.

T.A.1966 Angmar attacks
A force of orcs out of Angmar are intercepted by elves from Lorien at the bridge over the Lothduin river. The elves expected to stop them crossing but the orcs had a mammoth from the Northern Wastes leading the attack that easily pushed the elves aside.

Twilight was about them...The west wind
was sighing in the branches. Leaves were
whispering. Soon the road began to fall
gently but steadily into dusk...

A waking dream..flowers from paradise, airy blues and gleaming dark crystal ...something celestial.
A floating river of vintage enameled brass flowers, with tiny crystal swarovski sapphire centers, flow down around the imposing lava stone. Wrapped in a delicately detailed silverplate leaf 'overgrown' with swarovski rondelles, micro beads, sterling silver beads and two genuine peridot stones. It hangs from a beautiful vintage (circa 1940) moire night black ribbon fastening in the back with a sterling silver clasp..elaborated with sterling silver caps and wire.
