2160 Monroe Dr NE.

Formerly the Trust Company Bank built in 1965.

The Guardian Angel Shrine was designed by Los Angeles architect, Paul R. Williams and opened in 1963. It was named co-cathedral of the Reno-Las Vegas Diocese in 1977 and cathedral of the Las Vegas Diocese in 1995. The large tile mosaic murals both inside and outside were designed by Los Angeles artist Edith Piczek and the stained glass windows by her sister Isabel Piczek.

Has good bits in it, but took a wide turn somewhere on good design highway.

From Progressive Architecture February 1961

Just picked this one up today. It needed a little cleanup, but is in great shape. Amazingly, the black portion of the shades haven't been lost to time. They just barely clip inside the inner rim of the shade, and it's easy to see how so many are often missing.

Alma, Georgia

Constructed in the mid 1960s by the then Alma Exchange Bank. It began operation January 25, 1966. The design was a concept of a founder Mr Valene Bennett who saw the "googie architecture" at the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing, NY. It was restored in 2020 by the sons of Mr Bennett, who know are Chairman and Vice Chairman of Pineland Bank.
