My great-grandma Emma is in the back, my mom’s back is to the camera, my grandma Myrle is taking the picture, and me, the spoiled little princess, is looking cute as usual.😘
Keep adding my estate sale and thrift store finds. I'm feeling the need to edit but I love everything currently on display.

I recognized this one right away as one of the homes in Barrett Brae subdivision, most of which is in Kirkwood, MO.
Barrett Brae is a mix of ranch homes, some more modern than others, built between 1955-59. It contains many examples of variations of this plan. Most are in pretty good condition today, some of which can be seen here www.flickr.com/photos/29703936@N07/ and the house in the magazine could quite possibly be this one www.flickr.com/photos/29703936@N07/2836046019/
A little information on the subdivision is also available here barrettbrae.com/index.htm
New art bumps the ball clock and other pieces to a different room. Painting is by Jan Danziger, 1970. Kinetic sculpture still a mid-century mystery and bronze piece is by Elizabeth Kohler.
The Orbit gas station is still going strong, built in 1963, architect Ed Ward’s iconic structure has a four point concrete roof. One of several in the Sacramento area, we have found three of them and this is the only one that’s still a gas station Anyone know if there are more still standing.
After a few months of getting settled in, Kitten graces the drive of her new Texas abode. The house, built in 1959, forms a great backdrop. Just missing longhorns on the hood, I suppose . . .
These graphics accompanied the Yacht Anchorage section in the development's sales brochure (undated). My favorite of the bunch. Artist uncredited. Lithography by Litho Arts, Inc.
Latest shot of the evolving display. I've officially lost the right to call myself a minimalist and am edging towards maximalist in the guest room.
The original Penguin's Coffee Shop opened in 1959 and was designed by Armet & Davis. In 1991 it was transformed into a dentist office, but in 2018 it was restored by the small Mel's Drive-in chain.
