Aplonis metallica-The Metallic Starling is a bird in the starling family. It is native of New Guinea and nearby Australia.
It's not a rock from the Moon but a sample of raw material used to make stainless steel. I can't remember if it is ferromanganese or something similar.

Jiffy AirKraft Metallic is a high gloss, fully laminated bubble-lined aluminium mailer. It provides thermal, puncture and water resistance and is available in 4 eye-catching colours. The peel and seal closure offers security and speeds up the packaging operation. Available in an extended range of sizes, this mailer is ideal for Media, Advertising and Marketing, as well as for sending gifts and craftwork.

In Seattle, large scale public art abounds, and the most heroic of these is the EMP, Museum of Music, Sci-Fi, and Pop-Culture, a Frank O. Gehry-designed collosal sculpture clad in multi-hued steel and aluminum. My first thought was that the building was constructed from remnants from the nearby Boeing plant. I found out why, the design is based on a program developed by Dessault Corporation for the design of Mirage fighter jets. Much better photos of the building can be found at the home website of the museum. Amazingly, this is my first visit to Seattle when I did not get drenched by rain.

I decided to post this tonight because it is the last night of Chanukah. I created this pattern in Painter from the digital sketch ("Metallic Menorah") that I posted last week. Happy Chanukah (and many menorahs!)
A first year subadult Metallic Starling (Aplornis metallica) already has the red eye of an adult bird, but the plumage is markedly different: brown above with a light belly and brown streaking. The structure is the same as the adult birds, but the plumage is different enough to make you think it could be a different bird. (Photographed just outside of Cairns, Queensland, Australia)
