Heidi spotted this bedazzled beetle, Chrysobothris chrysoela, on the side of a cypress tree by the edge of a lake. As a larva it is a wood-borer.
Most of the 16 skinks found in Tasmania including the metallic skink, Niveoscincus metallicus, give birth to live young rather than laying eggs:

It's metallic green beetle.. It's fly around in my house... once i caught it and took some stack photo.. It's about 10 stack.

A bit like stamens, petals and flower structures. The shiny circles are reflectors reflected in the water of the Carp pond in the Kibble Palace in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Coins thrown in lie on the bottom.
It looks much better now, after a nice, shiny paint job. The paint we chose is called "black silver metallic".
To give you an idea of how smal these metallic bees are here is a pic of a honey bee on the same kind of flower.
Correct me if I'm wrong on the id. I know it could be a Drongo as well, but not too sure.
I was out photographing scapes at sunrise this morning, when I came across a tree with 15 - 20 of these birds, all feeding young these berries. Bonus for me!! :-)

i just did this in my kitchen sink. i haven't been to flickr for a while because of schoolwork and i was sick, so i apologize. i just took my cooking pot, put it in the sink, turn the sower on an just press the shutter toward the light. and sunlight.
One of the most beautiful and unusual butterfly chrysalis is that of the Variegated Fritillary butterfly (Euptoieta claudia). Its shimmering metallic pigmentation provides a striking view in the sunlight.
Ok, so, thats a corny title. But its a cool piece of art, because its semi-functional. It is actually a 3D puzzle; unlock it, and the eye you see is actually a ring with pearl (white) and a sapphire (pupil). I've only ever seen it done once.
