Looking at a tutorial on converting photos to drawing, I've picked up some pictures I've made some time ago. They were not so interesting and were useful just to remember nice places or good texture for a future use. I've converted them into sketches and now I think (IMHO) are pretty good. This one is a sample of a metallic structure useful for a texture

Aplonis metallica-The Metallic Starling is a bird in the starling family. It is native of New Guinea and nearby Australia.
Discovered this patch of dirt in my yard with two holes in it. After observing for a minute an iridescent green bee flew down and went down the hole. So I grabbed the camera and staked out the entrance. They're very timid, they poke their heads out of the hole, and if they see you, they scoot back down. The fine folks over at the Insect Macro Photography group identified them as Green Metallic Bees (Agapostemon splendens).

A Metallic Starling (Aplonis metallica), feeding in a fig tree at the Cairns Foreshore (Cairns, Australia)
Metallic beetle (Chrysolina fastuosa) found in a single patch of nettles under a tree covering an area of about 2 square meters. There were hundreds of them around, most were difficult to get too, however this and a few others were roaming around on the ground so made good subjects.
