In Seattle, large scale public art abounds, and the most heroic of these is the EMP, Museum of Music, Sci-Fi, and Pop-Culture, a Frank O. Gehry-designed collosal sculpture clad in multi-hued steel and aluminum. My first thought was that the building was constructed from remnants from the nearby Boeing plant. I found out why, the design is based on a program developed by Dessault Corporation for the design of Mirage fighter jets. Much better photos of the building can be found at the home website of the museum. Amazingly, this is my first visit to Seattle when I did not get drenched by rain.

This is Buprestis rufipes, the Red-Legged Metalic Wood-Boring Beetle. I had often encountered the elongated flat-headed larvae as I split maple logs for firewood, but this is the first adult I've come across. The larvae apparently are a favorite food of woodpeckers.
Beside a playground are these metallic drums. Thwack them with a flip-flop, and they'll make a funny noise.

This 3M 1080 Brushed Black Metallic vinyl is an awesome and fun material to work with. It resistes scratches and gives multiple visual effects when looking at it when applied. A nice contrast to the black is the red Berserk logo that we applied onto the hood and rear windshield. This vinyl is sure to catch looks since it is like no other vinyl out there.
