Italian Consulate / Henry P. Davidson House, 690 Park Avenue, New York City (Walker & Gillette: 1917)
I came across this door on some sort of auto parts junkyard very well off the beaten path. It's obviously homemade; a wooden door with grating and a torch cut frame.
This was impressive, because it was all carved from a single sheet of metal. The blue is actually see-through... if you look carefully, everything is connected.
In the process of being cleaned as best we can. However, if anyone has any ideas on how to preserve or restore them properly we'd be very interested to hear.

These were all over the city - for tying up your horse and/or hanging up your torch, I think.
I made this during a class I took from Janice Berkebile at The Bead Gallery. It was a 6 hour class in which we learned how to cut metal with a pair of shears. Then we riveted embellishements and pieces the pieces together.
