My friend Alice came from Florida to see LIM college where she'll be going next year! I met her about four years ago online through McFly and we've been really great friends ever since. The past three years we've seen eachother once a year, and it's so nice. Now that she'll be in NYC for college we're going to get to see eachother so much more often. I'm so excited about this!

We made new message boards for the girls' room with an Ikea box, some leftover fabric a bit of glue and tape and a few nails.

The paper used for these magnets has been up-cycled from a brochure that was created using recycled paper. The wild animals featured are: a jack rabbit, turtle, frog, red fox, porcupine and a sheep.
I just love that porcupine!
Pondering questions as I live out the last day of my second decade:
- Why can’t I find a job I actually enjoy?
- Why does Nick Lowe’s “Cruel to Be Kind” turn me on?
- Why do I love speeding on the freeway, but hate roller coasters?
- Why don’t I fit in on any messageboards?
- Why do I still get zits?
- Why do I bother getting embarrassed when I am actually just being myself?
- Did I get married too young?
- How come I didn’t get obsessed with photography earlier in life?
- Why are showers so heavenly?
- Did I waste my twenties by not “making something of myself”?
- Why does Safari crash whenever I visit MySpace?

For the All New Scavenger Hunt #11 - A sign outside a church with a service time or quote on it. (It's a lovely sentiment, but if I find one with a funny quote I'll be replacing this.)
St. Rita's is the nearest church to my house. The building is set well back from the road so they have this nice big sign near the end of their driveway. Behind it is their elementary school.

One of the odder topics bouncing around a few of the food-related messageboards and magazines is TCHO Chocolate's "Beta" chocolate samples.
TCHO is a San Francisco-based start-up which is trying to develop new chocolate varieties from scratch by making chocolate from single varieties of cacao, trying to find those that express the basic flavors of chocolate.
So far, they've released "beta" versions of their "Fruity" (from Peru), "Nutty" (also from Peru), and "Chocolately" (from Ghana) varieties.
I had a small sample of "Fruity" when I was in San Francisco which was quite good (and noticeably "fruitier" than most chocolate), so I decided that it would be neat to try out all their current varieties, so I ordered this sample pack.
The industrial-style packaging is kind of odd as well.
Carol and I will sample these later when I get home.

Propeller From RAF Lysander
This propeller, recovered by divers in 1973 off Abereiddi, is believed to come from an RAF Lysander, serial number V9444, which ditched in the sea 6th November 1942.
Exhibit refurbished by TEXACO and erected by PEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL on behalf of the PEMBROKESHIRE AVIATIO GROUP.
