While grabbing some shots of the Chicago Marathon this morning, I asked this lady if I could grab a shot of her sign. She was obviously more than happy to and mentioned that she had more than a few requests to do so.... quite a timely sign, given our upcoming debate this evening and pending election.
February 22, 2013, Christchurch NZ I took a walk around the city today as it is two years ago that the devastating earthquake ruined the city and killed 185 people. Poeple were aksed to leave messages at the Gap Filler in the Pallet Pavilion.

An inscribed brick, maybe from cyanamid? found on our trip along the new section of walking path (and surrounding areas) running along the hydro canal (between whirlpool rd. and Stanley Ave) in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada.

Sometimes photography's not about taking shots everyone will love, it's about seeing the world through your own eyes and providing that vision to the world. Good or bad, rated high or low, perfect or imperfect, roof in the background or flawless, not all photos are meant to be mounted on 'your' wall, but that doesn't make them any less real or valuable to someone else.
I take pride in every shot I take, what's interesting to me may not be interesting to you, but that doesn't mean it's not interesting to somebody else. I upload shots not just for the masses, but for the minorities as well.
Never forget to be yourself and run with your own ideas and take pictures of what you think is interesting, not just what your told is. If we all strived to be the same perfect photographer, the shots would all start looking the same.

An unexpected Christmas can be found in shopping mall Amstelveen if we have to believe the message on the 2090 Combino.
This Combino on its way to Centraal Station (almost illegible because of the stickers) has been delivered to the GVB on 28/07/2003 and was put into service for the first time on 11/09/2003 on line 4.

The front of this 1934 postcard shows a Matson line steamer ship departure from Honolulu, Hawaii.
The message reads: "This is the way a boat leaves nearly every Saturday. We take our mail down so that it is sure to get started on its way. There is always a crowd down to see it go. The people on the boat throw confetti and the band plays so it is quite an occasion…"
The card was sent by Elsie, Sherry's great-aunt. Elsie moved from Wisconsin to the Territory of Hawaii to take up teaching.
