Seen in the Horniman museum. Taxidermy at it's strangest.

Turned both of my Granado Davon into mermen :3

It's a pity there are no SD merman that couldn't pass for girls with a properly jointed and posable tail. I onyl want my two boys as mermen for the time being, so a sewed tail is perfectly fine for them ;)

Me and the family recently took a trip to Gatlinburg and visted Ripley's Believe it or not museum. The thing that got me the most excited was getting to see an authentic Fiji Merman. Ripley's museum is about the coolest place on earth.

Seeing some of @whatifchris‘ repaints in the past week really made me want to put myself outside of my comfort zone and try doing a custom repaint I’ve been wanting to attempt for a long while but I’ve been kind of scared to attempt.

After I put my Batman head on the Steve Trevor/Wonder Woman legged hybrid, I figured this was a good enough base to try experimenting on.

This was modelled after the Merman dye job trend (read more about it here: www.boredpanda.com/merman-colorful-beard-hair-dye-men-trend/ ) and I really wanted that 80s Lisa Frank pastel kind of gradient ombre effect.

I feel like something is missing or off about his face so I might try blushing his face to add some depth to his vinyl before I commit to wiping him lol.

After watching the awesome Game of Thrones series I became slightly obsessed with each of the House's and their identity or sigil.

Having found the houses and their representative sigils. I set about creating a vector for each one of them and creating a poster. I hope you like them as much as I do.

No. 16/52 Strange (52 in 2018 Challenge)

(Explored 7-13-18)

During a walking tour, our guide pointed out and told us the story of this underwater sculpture in Copenhagen's Fredericksholm Canal. We had walked by this spot ourselves earlier and passed by this spot during a canal boat tour and had no idea this sculpture even existed. A strange but oddly beautiful sculpture.

The following description is from Atlas Obscura:

"The Danish ballad, Agnete og Havmanden tells the story of Agnete, who leaves her family to start a new life in the sea with a merman, for a while… Since 1992 an underwater sculpture by the Danish artist Suste Bonnén has brought the story from fantasy into reality under a bridge in central Copenhagen.

"The tale of Agnete and the Merman is a traditional Danish story that was originally passed down by oral tradition. As the story goes, a young woman named Agnete was passing by the sea when a remarkably forward and decisive merman emerged from the waters and offered her his hand in marriage. Being a spritely and impulsive girl herself, she dropped what she was doing and went to live with him beneath the waves. The couple had seven little mer-kids and things seemed to be going great until Agnete heard distant church bells ringing from land. She left her mer-family to pay a visit to her old life, promising to return. However once she was reacquainted with her old life Agnete decided not to return to the sea, leaving her merman to be a single dad, forever pining for his lost love.

"The underwater sculpture stting beneath the Højbro Bridge, at the bottom of the Frederiksholm canal depicts Agnete’s husband and her abandoned children reaching up towards the surface, longing for their mother in a haunting scene captured in eternal bronze.

"The eerie and incongruous site is easy to miss as one looks toward Christiansborg Palace and the Børsen, and dozens of tour boats pass by it every single day, but this subtle and imaginative piece of public art is definitely one of Copenhagen’s hidden gems."

In Helsinore (Hamlet castle) they love the little Mermaid, but they can't have her, she is in Copenhagen, so in these LGBT political correct times, they now have a MerMAN ... just as sad as the real one.

Taken at my home the other day with my favorite merman. ;)
