I love night photography.
With all the roadway and overpass construction happening in our city, on my end of town, there are many opportunities for night shots of these intriguing apocalyptic sets of steel uprights.
The construction workers were kind enough to blast this "set" with one of their massive work lights. Thanks, Guys!

PS I really liked the shot as is, but I wanted it to have more of an apocalyptic feel to it. Besides I like the color of a fine red merlot.
PPS Martha's Vine is coming along nicely. I am at Chaper 25 - another 10 to go. Want to know more? Here is the link to my publishing house.
Holy crap - keeping wine glasses clean enough to shoot is a PAIN IN THE ASS! ;)
SB600 - almost directly above, reflectors on both sides of wine glass.

Alcantarea 'Merlot' is a cross of imperialis x vinicolor. This magnificent beauty comes from Hawaii and is absolutely stunning when grown with proper light, water and planting medium. As the name suggests, the color is a deep red wine throughout the plant.
A full-bodied wine with soft, silky tannins, which blend well with fruity notes of Marasca cherry, plums, raspberries and fruits of the forest. Pairs well with cured meats or heavy pasta dishes.

For Macro Monday theme "Backlit," this is a very small bit of the engraving on one of our crystal wine glasses, lit from the far side of the glass by a candle. It looks like a snowflake! I left the little imperfections in the crystal as is.
Shot with medium and large macro tubes on.

A late-night, low light photograph. I was captivated by the twinkling marquee for a touring Broadway show outside my hotel window. I placed the tiny merlot bottle in front of the marquee to provide a foreground subject. The blue book with the cream-coloured frame was meant to echo the marquee but I decided it weakened the composition so I shaded it considerably in LR.

BUNCHES WAITING FOR THE HARVEST.
That of the tourist grape harvester becomes one of the last frontiers of wine tourism, and Friuli Venezia Giulia is the first region of Italy to offer the experience of a tourist-educational grape harvest, a cultural and recreational activity lasting a few hours or half-day which will take place in the wineries where the harvest still takes place through the hand-picking of the grapes. The experience will also be suitable for families, who will be able to enjoy the experience as "harvesters" together with their children in total safety.
