Whenever I make ice cream. I like to experiment. I made this sorbet quick and easy - the added alcohol makes it smooth and like velvet on the tongue...not icy. Fresh blackberries, raw sugar and merlot. That's it. More blackberries with agave and decorated with a pizzelle.
Yum.
It was a nice sunny afternoon I was on my deck over looking part of my flower garden.
A beautiful Western Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio rutulus) butterfly glide by and started to land on a couple of large Echinacea Merlot blossoms.
I ran inside, grabbed the Camera and started clicking........
Well the vibrant color reminded me of red wine, though this has more hues and shades.
This looks particularly georgous as my desktop.

Chicken Merlot with Mushrooms is a good slow cooker recipe but needs a bit of tweaking. Double the garlic and spices! I was hoping that when I whipped this together this morning before work I would be able to come home to an almost effortless meal and bento. Sigh, the sauce was lacking in flavor so I reduced it and added a bit of Goulash Cream, that certainly helped! Served over wide no yoke noodles with a sprinkling of grated parmesan and a side of steamed brussels sprouts.
The cold side of the bento has star fruit, raspberries, blueberries. Sliced gouda with apple/pear confit with mini toast.

Thought I'd add something to the weekly challenge. I took this ages ago (obviously at the same time as THIS shot) and took another look at it again tonight and decided I like it more now then when I processed it 1st. Maybe I should've had both the label and stem of the glass in focus, but what's done is done. ;)
I would include my stobist info here..... but, it was 6 weeks ago and I think I had polished off a bottle of wine....... so I don't have a clue how I did this. LOL
