No trip to Spain is complete without having a look in the various Chinese bazaars you'll find all over. Some prove to be big disappointments 1/64 diecast wise whereas some do yield the weird and wonderful. Probably not a notion shared with most collectors but I struck lucky in finding one such bazaar which stocked several Xiruilu products including this rather crude and slab sided Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
Not in anyway licensed naturally but Xiruilu are one of those rare off brand Chinese toy makers who are more than willing to put their name on packaging and amazingly on the underside of their models too!

Maisto Fresh Metal van which most collectors seem to agree being nothing less than a restyled Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in order to avoid paying license fees. Very cheap to buy and thus its no surprise to see so much plastic creeping in to this budget range.
Found recently in a French Super U supermarket where they are sold as singles.

The fairly new Corgi miniature range is definately growing on me even though the new castings and liveries arnt coming as quickly as originally planned. This nicely cast Eddie Stobart Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van can be bought as a single or in a 5 vehicle Stobart set which is where this example came from. Mint and boxed.
Arriving at Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow is McColl's Coaches of Balloch EVM Cityline bodied Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus RX74OXP. Usually the preserve of a Mellor Strata.

There is still a huge choice of 1/64 diecasts made by Chinese toy makers though strangely most of them no longer appear to be sold in the U.K. anymore with most large name stores having surrendered to Mattel long ago. Thankfully Pioneer is still pretty easily available here notably from Smyths Toys who sell virtually the entire line up in various different multi vehicle sets. Although unlicensed pretty much all of Pioneers output are recognisable as real vehicles such as this Mercedes-Benz Sprinter based Ambulance with its crisp casting and bright clear graphics. Part of a 17 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
