This wasn't the best time to visit Burrator (Dartmoor National Park). The road around the reservoir was being re-surfaced and car access was restricted. Nevertheless I was able to wander around the woodland area and along Newleycombe Lake in my quest for Photographic subject matter.
I was near the edge of the wood when these road-workers came by in a cloud of dust doing what they had to do. The scene that presented itself had the potential for an interesting shot, I thought, so I managed to grab just two, and this was the better one. I liked how the sun shone through and lit up the cloud of dust surrounding the two workers.
Any opinions critical or otherwise will be welcome, and appreciated. Thank you.

One of the most precious moments while being on the Philippines was this late afternoon. Standing on the bridge over the Sum ag river overlooking the spot that I had crossed many times. Watching this fisherman getting ready to go out fishing. Looking at this image, one feels the serenity and quietness on the water.
But behind me the cars, trucks, tricycles and motorcycles were rushing by only 1 meter. Making lots of noise. Pedestrians were waiting for me to finish my photoshoot to get passed me on the narrow pavement.
But looking at this image at home I enjoy the tranquil scene. The yellow light from the setting sun striking over the treetops and warming up the colors of the boats and the houses on the right. Today I received a large print of this image and now it's hanging on the wall of the living room. I know I will return to this place. Soon...

Queuing for the entrance of Saint Peter's basilica we past by this scene. Using the telephoto lens and some patience got me this serene shot of one of the Swiss guards. I like the colours of the uniform, the framing of the scene and the repetition of the arches. Most visitors didn't even notice him. But after I took my chance more people tried the same, with their phones.... Hmm, I wonder if they kept their shots.
update 250220: I followed a suggestion to crop the original image to its current size. The focus is even more on the colourful uniform and the soft lights and colours in the background. It makes the image stronger. Thanks for the tip Titus!
Enjoy!

This was captured recently at a charcoal factory at a village call Terong. They are using the mangrove trees to make charcoal. Basically mangroves are put into a huge clay furnace and burn over night.
This is a dying industry as the mangroves are protected by the government from over cutting as they take about 30 years to grow. Sooner or later we won't be able to see these type of factory again.

Looks strange, doesn't it, but it's actually real! That is taken in the city of Lucerne in Switzerland. The overhanging roof is part of the KKL, aka Culture and Congress Center Lucerne. I took the photo from the bridge called 'Die Seebrücke' with the 400mm lens, hence the distortion. In the background you can see part of the Glarus and Urner Alps if I have that correct. The men were busy repairing the roof of this immense and imposing building.
