LACMA is in the middle of the first scheduled maintenance of the Urban Light installation since it's opening in 2008.

It will take 2 months but, half the installation is still open while the other half is worked on so if you visit, you can still catch a few shots.

At first, I was irritated, but then decided to make lemonade and embrace the opportunity for different types of shots than would normally be available.

I still took a few of the classic at the classic angles (which will be posted at some future date to be sure) but for now, let's whistle while we work, shall we?

I observed these daring window washers working on another building in our condo. I was in Alberta when they cleaned our building's windows and I appreciate their work.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy each day!

That's really all that welding is - melting. Melting metal to make a joint. But it's an art - a craft - it takes practice and skill. A good weld is beautiful, a bad one screams at you.

These fishermen normally pull their nets from the water just b4 sunset ... everyday! So i needed to look for them as they dont set their nets at the same place every day. Finally i found them 3km away from their normal place and where I had parked my car. But to my disappointment they were winding up things as i was a bit late i guess. Here they are cleaning up the net from finger size fishes of which they were not interested in at all. I got around 150 shots in 20 mins or so as the sun was in real hurry to go down and light was changing real fast with changing positions of these boys. I had to move fast too with their positions as i needed the sun right behind them.

It is so sad to see some people struggling in life because their profession has gone obsolete...
