This artist also wants to take a stand against violence against women, and the original translation of his thoughts into a work of art is far more profound than it might appear at first glance.

Nirbhaya means Fearless. Its a word for a woman who is brave and fearless. The term became popular after the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape incident which took the life of a Girl. She was given the title Nirbhaya for being strong and fighting till her last breath.

In compliance with Indian law, the real name of the victim was initially not released to the media, so pseudonyms were used for her by various media houses instead, including Jagruti ("awareness"), Jyoti ("flame"), Amanat ("treasure"), Nirbhaya ("fearless one"), Damini ("lightning") and Delhi braveheart.

The 2012 Delhi gang rape case involved a rape and fatal assault that occurred on 16 December 2012 in South Delhi, India. The incident took place when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern, Jyoti Singh Pandey, was beaten, gang raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was traveling with her friend. There were six others in the bus, including the driver, all of whom raped the woman and beat her friend. Eleven days after the assault, she was transferred to a hospital in Singapore for emergency treatment but succumbed to her injuries two days later. The incident generated widespread national and international coverage and was widely condemned, both in India and abroad. Subsequently, public protests against the state and central governments for failing to provide adequate security for women took place where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces. Similar protests took place in major cities throughout the country. Since Indian law does not allow the press to publish a rape victim's name, the victim has become widely known as Nirbhaya, meaning "fearless", and her struggle and death have become a symbol of women's resistance to rape in the world.

The streets of Aalborg have gradually become an almost living art museum, and tourists from near and far also have Street Art tours on the list when they have to see and experience the city up close.

These are usually international artists who cover the walls in colour and beautiful patterns, but the latest work of art is instead created by a local.

Frida Stiil Vium is only 23 years old, but has in the last six years travelled the world (and Aalborg) with her spray cans and creative minds. Many wonderful paintings have come out of it, but this time it has been something very special.

"I have long dreamed of painting my own gable in Aalborg, so we have been looking for one for the purpose," says Frida, who, in collaboration with Amalie Sofie Skoven and the owners' association that owns the wall, was allowed to decorate the 25-meter-high gable.

The name of the work is "2020" - a year that most of us will probably remember for a very, very long time.

"As most people probably share my opinion about 2020, it has been a year filled with a lot of different events - and I think it is important to focus on the positive in those things," says Frida.

“The wings in front of the girl's face should symbolize the corona, while the dove is a hope for the future in the foreground. Her dark skin is from the movement black lives matter, while the weights in the pigeon's mouth stand for equality and justice, ” explains Frida.

The colours are taken from the area, while the palm trees and the exotic aspect are taken from Frida's own style. The woman, who to the sharp eye might look like Frida Kahlo, is also naked as a symbol of #metoo.
