#MeToo, Women in the Media: From Outcry to Action: The ‘Me Too’ movement continues to gain momentum and spread across the globe exposing the scale and reach of sexual violence. Media can be powerful players in driving women’s empowerment and gender equality as part of the Sustainable Development Agenda. This event aims to seize this opportunity, to move from the global outcry against gender discrimination, and showcase solutions to move from discussions to action and end this scourge once and for all. This event will focus on #Metoo, Time’s up, pay gap and other current issues in the news and entertainment media industries and beyond, and will have the participation of the FM of Norway, and the Editor in Chief of The Guardian. Co-organized by: Norway, The Guardian and UN Women.
