Since my youngest started pre-school, I now have 2 little pockets of time for 2 and a half hours each, all to myself. Although I do spend most of this precious me-time rushing about getting stuff done, sometimes (like today) I do let myself just have half an hour... just doing nothing. Its bliss... and I am very grateful for it.
Hair today...
I have been so desparate to get my hair cut for ages but have had no opportunity to do so, what with the boy and all. Today Nickster looked after Luka for me and off i went. It was so lovely to have some time to myself and at the end of it i have new shorter, blonder hair. I am really pleased with it!
I've only just started reading this...am I going to scratch all the way through?!

Pete Hautman is an extraordinately talented writer who won the National Book Award for his YA novel - Godless. I loved him prior to that for Mr. Was.

UPDATE: Rash was ok, a little under-developed for my taste. I enjoyed the humor and interesting futuristic ideas (it takes place in 2075 or so) but the plot was a bit muddled and the characters where thinner than his others. So, I still suggest Mr. Was for a great mind-bending read and Godless for some religious controversy.

According to Woody Allens movie "deconstructing harry" a friend of mine captured this unsharp picture of me today. In the movie Woody Allen plays the writer Harry who literally slides out of focus or becoming blurred like one of his own fictional characters. Cookie a prostitute helps him to restore focus... Maybe it's a coincidence that there is a blurred picture of me at this moment of my 365 project. On the other hand, maybe it a sign that I'm out of focus with my project? Who knows... Nevertheless, I try to continue. Have a nice evening folks.

I'd not say that I'm a Karnevalist, but it was just nice to be on the Stunksitzung once again. By the way, I've heard that laughter is supposed to be healthy... :-) After the show, a friend of mine and I went to a Turkish restaurant on the Keupstrasse here in Cologne. There can't be more different cultural adventures at one time. By the way, I saw that the Kervansaray has closed. Hope the fuckin Höhner will not be proved right when they sing, "die Karawane zieht weiter!
Finding solitude in the grounds of St James' Anglian Church. Managing to have that little "me" time, away from the hectic pressures of everyday life. And despite the hustle & bustle and urban chaos of the big city, I still find this place to be a little pocket of peace and calm.

Today it was a zero me-time day. From the very early morning to a late business dinner in the evening, every minute was full of words, trouble and boredom. It was just enough time to take a snapshot on my way home. Fritz Behn’s statue Diana with antelope jumping is representative of the oeuvre of this foremost German artist of animal sculptures. Behn, who lived from 1878 to 1970, was a traveler. His work focused on the African wildlife, the reason he traveled the African continent for several years. When I was standing there for a couple of minutes, I remembered my trip through South Africa in 2010. There should be more of this and less words, trouble and boredom . . . .
