You can find the tiny people easier here. ;-)
Information varies on the size and weight of the rock. Some sources say it's the size of 3 school buses ..looks a whole lot bigger than that to me. ;-) Others say it weights as much as 1600 full sized cars. Most sources say that it's actually a rock balanced on sandstone & that it will eventually fall. The only thing I know for sure is that it's very, very large & amazing & does look like it will fall at any given second. ;-)
On January 11, 2018, for the eighth year running, I joined protestors in Washington, D.C., calling on the US government to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, a shameful example of indefinite detention without charge or trial run by a country that claims to respect the rule of law, on the 16th anniversary of its opening. This was the first anniversary that Guantanamo has been under the control of Donald Trump, and there was a passion and an anger at the gathering, replacing the disappointment that was the hallmark of most of the Obama years. This photo shows me with Alli McCracken of Amnesty International USA (formerly of CODEPINK), one of the organizers of the protest, holding up a poster from the new photo campaign I launched on the anniversary, showing how long Guantanamo has been open (5,845 days on the anniversary), details of which can be found here: www.closeguantanamo.org/Gitmo-Clock-2018-photos
And just before the campaign, lawyers launched a new lawsuit against the Trump administration, which I wrote about here: www.andyworthington.co.uk/2018/01/15/as-guantanamo-enters...
