If the children are worried about whether the Easter Bunny can hide this year despite #stayathome eggs, you can reassure them:
As long as the Easter bunny is travelling alone or with a maximum of a helper, there is nothing against it - as long as it keeps enough distance.

December on the point at Emerald Isle, North Carolina. I don't think its possible to overstate how bright it was that afternoon. Absolutely searing. Thank you for the look and have a great weekend.
Many thanks for the visits, faves and comments. Cheers
Buff-banded Rail
Scientific Name: Gallirallus philippensis
Description: The Buff-banded Rail is a medium-sized stout rail with short legs. It has a distinctive grey eyebrow and an orange-brown band on its streaked breast. The lores, cheek and hindneck are rich chestnut. The chin and throat are grey, the upperparts streaked brown and the underparts barred black and white. The eye is red. Young birds are much paler to white underneath, with indistinct bars and only a faint orange-brown tint on the breast. Downy chicks are fluffy black. This rail walks slowly, with tail raised and flicking constantly.
Similar species: The orange-brown breast band distinguishes the Buff-banded Rail from the similar but smaller Lewin's Rail,Dryolimnas pectoralis, which has a rich chestnut crown and nape and a proportionally longer pink bill.
Distribution: The Buff-banded Rail is widespread in mainland Australia, particularly along the eastern coast and islands, and on Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands. It is also found in south-east Asia, New Guinea and New Zealand.
Habitat: The Buff-banded Rail is seen singly or in pairs in dense reeds and vegetation bordering many types of wetlands or crops. It makes widespread use of artificial wetlands like sewage ponds and drainage channels.
Seasonal movements: The Buff-banded Rail is resident and possibly locally nomadic, though little is known of these movements.
Feeding: The Buff-banded Rail feeds on crustaceans, molluscs, insects, seeds, fruit, frogs, carrion and refuse. It mostly feeds early in the morning and the evening.
Breeding: Breeding is poorly known, but the Buff-breasted Rail nests in long grass, tussocks, rushes or crops. It makes an unlined cup-shaped nest of grasses or reeds. Both parents incubate and the young will leave the nest within 24 hours. Both parents remain with the young, which usually feed themselves, though the female may feed them as well. Two broods may be raised in some seasons.
Calls: Loud creaky squeak when breeding but usually silent.
Minimum Size: 28cm
Maximum Size: 33cm
Average size: 31cm
Average weight: 130g
Breeding season: September to February
Clutch Size: 5 to 8 eggs
Incubation: 19 days
Nestling Period: 1 days

The face of a satisfied fisherman.
Who would have thought that within days of taking this photo our country would be in lockdown.
Today I would have been back home in Scotland, but instead the chances of doing so, seem distant indeed.
For now I must make do with the memories and look forward to a time when this nightmare will be over.
Stay positive everyone and more importantly stay safe and well.

Wyatt has been practicing his Flippy Flopper skills this week in the snow. His timing is getting better. Much better thann with the ball. It will be interesting to see what he can do on the grass when we see it again.(That's after the mud dries, if it ever dries....)

This was taken at noon. The sun would have been behind me, over my right shoulder, had it been visible. It made for this really odd "false sunrise in the west" effect, which you can see in this shot.

In Europe I have never seen a four outboard combination before. But in America, you can often see boats with four engines. 1400 HP on a small boat is great. I have seen this in Fort Lauderdale. Big and expensive boats are the norm there.

Black Kite (Milvus migrans 1.2-1.5m) accelerates in flight with tail feathers fanned for lift on the downstroke. Yes, they are not very black, but a hundred of them wheeling on thermals hundreds of metres up do look like black specks. I have seen them dive to take small pieces of meet held up at family barbecues. They are very agile, precise and skilful hunters.

ENGLISH:
The Scheveningen Pier is a pleasure pier in the Dutch resort town of Scheveningen near The Hague. Opened in 1959, the current pier is the second in the town, the first being lost just after, and as a result of, the Second World War.
The first pier of Scheveningen, named Wandelhoofd Koningin Wilhelmina (Stroll Main Queen Wilhelmina) opened on 6 May 1901 and was designed by the Dutch architect Wilhelmus Bernardus van Liefland and W. Wyhowski. The wooden structure was built on a steel foundation directly in front of the Kurhaus hotel. During the Second World War Scheveningen was part of the Atlantikwall with the Germans using the pavilion as a storage facility as well as placing arms ammunition on the pier. To complicate an invasion by the Allies, the 30 meter promenade was removed and fitted with a suspension bridge. On March 26, 1943 the pavilion burned out completely. After the fire, the Germans demolished the pier by removing the wooden upper structure from its foundation, most likely due to fears the pier could be used by the Allied forces in an amphibious assault.
On 17 September 1959 the current structure, designed by Dutch architects Hugh Maaskant and Dick Apon from Rotterdam, was opened by the then mayor of The Hague, Hans Kolfschoten. Its unusual construction boasts two levels for the main pier, the lower deck a closed-in section, the upper open to the elements, and four terminal sections called 'islands', each originally with a separate focus. Its total length is 382 meters.
After a period of decay the pier was purchased in 1991 by the Van der Valk group for one Dutch guilder. The company invested about 20 million euros in the pier, refurbishing the main span and one island, constructing a restaurant and casino. Following a fire in 2011 a new period of decay began and the pier was declared bankrupt in early 2013. The whole structure was closed in October 2013 by the town management, because the structure was no longer safe.
The project developer Kondor Wessels Groep en Danzep BV bought the pier in October 2014 and planned to introduce various new features. On 19 July 2015, the upper deck of the pier was partly reopened, though safety concerns limited attendance to a maximum of 800 people at the same time. The lower deck is also open, although work continues. The upper deck contains a Bungee jumping facility and a restaurant.
