My handsome boy.
Okay, I guess you want to know more about him?
So, he is 7 months old and is proven to be quite a quick learner and he just LOVES people! Especially our family, of course! He also has a crush on Sofi, so he does everything possible to annoy her and push her away if she's getting my attention. Too bad Sofi is winning. Points for trying though.
Anyway Max is one big ball of energy, he just doesn't get tired. And if he does, then he just sleeps for a bit and is ready to go all again! He loves water, and putting his head in it. I thought that fox terriers don't listen to you but he has proven me wrong. He is incredibly quick on his feet and has quite a taste for treats, so even when he goes off "hunting" it takes a few calls and he's back. Of course Max isn't still raising his leg, so he might get more stubborn in a month or two. But so far so good.
Max has his first show in a month :).
Our pal Max is visiting from the UK, so after a long day at RCCC, we took her to see the Columbia Gorge.
Among the first captures of Max with my new zoom lens out to 70mm.
In portraiture it appears length does matter! Longer, faster lens is on the list.

Playing for first time with my 35mm 1.8. Took about 20 of these shots very similar, this was the one with the best focus, but composition is slightly out unfortunately. Still quite a nice shot in my opinion.

I set up 1 SB-900 and 1 SB-800 set to group A, ball bungee'd to a C-stand holding our interview lighting rig. About a foot in front of the 2 strobes, I zip tied a Lastolite Tri-Grip transparent to another C-stand. Triggered them CLS through the pop-up on my D700 using TTL metering. Not the softest light in the world, because the Tri-Grip is a decent distance from the subjects (normally I'd have the silk just out of frame to get the most spread.) But this was a pragmatic decision because I didn't have to do much all day except face the interviews toward the silk and fire. Worked out pretty well.
