They had a great idea, placing artificial flowers in the water for their picture. Technical failure! The flowers sank. I managed to capture them from a distance before they did.

Pregnant squirrel eating one of our sunflowers. Of course I wasn't happy with the carnage in the garden. Our sunflowers were wrecked and there were remnants of flower buds all over the lawn. But I reached for the camera rather than chasing her away...
This was my first maternity session, and we had so much fun! It was a first for all of us :) so we had to work through the first few minutes of being unsure, but as soon as we started discussing the new baby-to-be it was just fun and laughs and relaxed.
I didn't really have one but with the help of Matt, he made it happen! It's the best I've ever felt as a woman!

Had my very first maternity photo shoot today with my friend Nat ! (expecting baby #3 around March 30th) ! It was fun and we got some good shots out of it ! ;)
My first attempt to take maternity photos. Model is my niece - Kirkke. Weather was not very warm at that time. In fact I got sick after this photoshoot. Luckily my model didn't. :-)
I used one external flash with Phottix wireless trigger placing it almost opposite to sun.
My first maternity session. Mom was 37 weeks and teeny tiny! She asked if we could incorporate this book. Baby will be named Stella which means star.
I found out toward the end of the shoot that Hailey was and still is pregnant. Here she is about 8 weeks. In a couple of weeks I will have the privilege of doing another shoot with her.
These are the first maternity shots I have taken. They are of my sister who is 24 weeks pregnant. Look out for more.....
Here are a couple of quick exports from a recent maternity session in the studio. Check back for more soon!

Vanessa is one of our all time favourite brides who has returned for her maternity shoot. She is always smiling and so radiant that she lights up a room.
Even heavily pregnant she is still walking her dogs regularly and keeping active so I knew I wanted to photograph her away from the studio... a bit of a change from my usual maternity images.

Big Human and I did two photo shoots this weekend. One was a maternity shoot. I was a bit apprehensive about the summer dress when it was windy and only 8 degrees Celsius but the expecting mum refused to be in the pictures with her coat on - she wanted to show off her belly. Big Human did a great job standing just outside the frame, handing over the clients' coats as soon as I lowered the camera.
