Caterpillar 980H front loaders. Their cushy winter job - snow removal from a shopping mall parking lot. At least this year it is cushy as we have had very little snow.
"Succede, in un match di tennis, che la palla sfiori la sommità della rete e, per un quarto di secondo, possa andare da una parte o dall’altra. Con un pò di fortuna, raggiunge il bersaglio e vinci. Ma può anche ricadere dalla tua parte, e allora perdi."
Sono ispirate al celebre film di Woody Allen, Match Point, le foto di questo reportage dove la patina di vecchie foto fa rivivere una partita a tennis degli anni 70.

"It happens, in a tennis match, that the ball touches the top of the net and for a quarter of a second, can fall down on one side or on another one. By chance, it reaches the target and you win. But it can also fall on your side, and then you lose "
The photos of this report are inspired by the famous Woody Allen film, Match Point, where the patina of old photos brings back playing tennis in the seventies.

The seventh match featured some decent chair usage, so I'm assuming it was some sort of a hardcore match. Though, again, I couldn't understand much of what was being announced.
1 flash + DIY straw grid camera left, aimed to light up the match but not the wire stuck into the back holding the match up.

The weather was so lovely and fresh, and while I was spending my holiday in the countryside I took Clotilde with me for a photoshoot <3 She kind of reminds me of the story about the little match girl...

Yesterday, Thursday 23 January 2025, saw Manchester United take on Rangers FC in the latest round of Europa League.
Greater Manchester Police officers were working through the evening to keep people safe across Manchester as over 70,000 football fans to Old Trafford to watch the match.
More than 450 officers across GMP were deployed through the night with 39 arrests being made in total – the vast majority being before the game.
We made 26 arrests in the Ancoats area of the city after some disorder broke out just after 6pm.
Further arrests were made on suspicion of drug offences, drunk and disorderly behaviour, tragedy chanting, and assault of a steward.
Ensuring thousands of match-going fans arrive safely for such an event takes a considerable amount of planning,
consideration, and dedication.
We worked with both football clubs and their respective supporters’ groups in the months leading up to the game to ensure the match passed safely with as little disruption to the wider public as possible.
Thankfully, after the game there were no further incidents outside the stadium as supporters headed home.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes, match commander for the game, said: “These high-profile fixtures are always exciting occasions, but they also naturally present challenges to ensure that the thousands of spectators can enjoy the game safely and to minimise disruption for the wider public.
“Last night, we did see some incidents before the game which required a prompt response from our officers to prevent any further disorder and harm.
Arrests were made and further disorder was prevented.
“An operation like this takes weeks, if not months, of planning with both clubs and all our local partners.
Generally the crowds have been really well behaved and the vast majority have had a safe and enjoyable time watching the game in Manchester.”

Headlining once again at the Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds were Damp Matches, a Norwich-based ban. According to their promo on their website they offer a unique blend of alt-rock, trash-hop, and anthemic indie.
Their sound is characterized by big, punchy riffs, thunderous drum lines, and frontwoman Helena Lewis's soaring vocals, often complemented by bassist Will Calvert's hip-hop influences.
They are known for their raucous, high-energy shows and are considered ones to watch on the UK rock circuit.
They were excellent!
