I picked up a freshly-emerged pair for detailed photos. Male is slightly smaller than female, and the singing organs (tymbals) are visible at the base of the abdomen. Each tymbal is covered by a flap called an operculum.

U.S. Army Reserve International Combat Team competitors take part in the Rifle International Match in which shooters rush forward 100 meters at a time to engage targets in various firing positions during the 2015 Canadian Armed Forces Small Arms Concentration at the Connaught Range outside of Ottawa, Canada, Sept. 15. The Match 11 Course of fire included four stages with a total of 50 rounds. Stage One was shot from the standing position at a slow rate of fire from the 200 yards and required a total of 10 rounds within ten minutes. Stage Two was a rapid fire of 60 seconds in the sitting/kneeling position from 200 yards. It incorporated a magazine change after two rounds were fired. Stage Three was a 10-round rapid fire in the prone within 70 seconds from standing from 300 yards with a magazine change. Stage Four was a slow fire in the prone from 500 yards. Twenty rounds had to be fire within 20 minutes.
