One of Antonio Gaudi's masterpiece. His work is truly unique, truly inspirational.

Ninety years ago, in 1931, the construction of the Gemeentemuseum on Stadhouderslaan in The Hague started. There is now an exhibition in the museum about the construction and about Berlage the architect with models, photos, working drawings, etc. etc.

I used two shots to get this one.

Another beautiful masterpiece of the Volos Museum's garden

Vézelay Abbey (Abbaye Sainte-Marie-Madeleine de Vézelay) was a Benedictine monastery in Vézelay in the Yonne department in northern Burgundy, France. The Benedictine abbey church is an outstanding masterpiece of Burgundian Romanesque art and architecture. The church at Vézelay is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

.....ah shucks, in all modesty, it's really not all that good! But, feel free to contradict me anytime!

Wale Folarin's GT3 I spotted at the beach in Del Mar. The carbon fiber hood makes for a dirty girl murder job.

A natural masterpiece.

A new version of one I'd previously shared, some window frost I happened upon at the hair salon a few Decembers ago (w/streetlight in background).

I'd never before seen anything like it, and never have since.

Ain't Nature grand?

Probably posing for a robot interest magazine.

Military architecture (Romanic style 12th Century)

Melgaço, northern Portugal

..................................................................................................

The tower construction began in 1170 under the order of D. Afonso Henriques – the first King of Portugal – who also issued a charter with laws, privileges and obligations for Melgaço, creating the municipality.

The tower has a quadrangular shape isolated in the middle of a wall circle. The walls have two doors and are reinforced with three smaller towers with prismatic battlements.

In the XVII century, with the developments in artillery, some adaptations were made with the construction of bastion lines around the medieval area.

Nowadays the interior of the Tower is a museum

--------.

explored, thank you:)

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely trip to Perthshire in Scotland. After visiting Aberfeldy one evening we decided to finish our day trip at nearby Loch Tay. Just as we arrived the winds dropped and the skies started to clear and the sun burst through. Such a fabulous sight on our first visit to this lovely spot!

Since you all seem to enjoy my sunset/rise photos, here's one more: the king of them all. It's amazing what you can find tucked away in a large file. I am quite pleased with the colors in this one.

I´m very proud that this photo was chosed by very talented Violaliena as a cover art for her amazing and wonderful fairy tale.

She is participating in a literary contest and made it to the semifinals. Congratulation! The theme of her story is: ”Prince Charming doesn’t exist”. (Il Principe Azzurro non esiste)

We all like to reflect. 2017 is a year to definitely reflect on. This image captures silence, peace and a reflection of its own self. We take many things for granted but most importantly we never appreciate what we’ve personally achieved enough. Always waiting for someone else’s approval. If you feel you’ve done the best you can for yourself or others then pat yourself on the back and be proud of your achievements. Be humble in defeat and respectful in glory. I hope your 2017 was as good as you could have imagined.
