The fan vaulted ceiling of Bath Abbey in Bath, UK is an amazing example of lace in stone. This delicate looking stone lace actually provides structural stability to the Abbey. It dates to the major renovations to the Abbey (which itself dates to the 7th century) in the Victorian period of 1864 - 74 and is the work of Sir George Gilbert Scott.
Das zentrale Element des IG Metall Hauses in Berlin ist das lichtdurchflutete Treppenhaus, das alle Etagen miteinander verbindet. Eine großzügige Wendeltreppe mit einem Durchmesser von fast 5 Metern ist Ort der Bewegung und der Kommunikation gleichermaßen. Alle Metallteile wurden in Messing ausgeführt und die mitlaufenden Geländerstäbe betonen die runde Formgebung der Treppe. Das Treppenhaus kann nur von unten besichtigt und fotografiert werden, ein Hinaufsteigen wird nicht gestattet. Das Haus der IG Metall ist seit 1971 denkmalgeschützt.

The central element of the IG Metall building in Berlin is the light-flooded staircase that connects all floors. A generous spiral staircase with a diameter of almost 5 metres is a place of movement and communication in equal measure. All metal parts are made of brass and the balustrades emphasize the round shape of the staircase. The staircase can only be viewed and photographed from below, unfortunately climbing up is not permitted. The IG Metall building has been a listed building since 1971.

Hickman Bridge, Capitol Reef National Park, Utah
Hickman Bridge is notoriously hard to photograph, as its relative proximity to the canyon wall behind it masks blue skies. It boasts a 133-foot span and 125-foot height. Natural bridges are carved by free-flowing water in contrast with arches.

Seit ich das erste Mal Künstlerpuppen sah, war ich restlos begeistert und wusste, irgendwann einmal möchte ich so eine Puppe haben ❣️
Nachdem ich inzwischen im Puppenoma-Alter bin, sind Luis und Bärbel auch meine Enkel. Beide stammen von der Puppenkünstlerin Monika Peter-Leicht. Ich ahnte auch nicht, dass mir das Fotografieren der beiden zum Hobby wird. Mir zaubern sie jeden Tag ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht und ich hoffe, das gelingt ihnen auch heute bei Euch für Smile on Saturday ❣️

Because I'm at the age of a doll-grandma, Luis and Bärbel are my grandchildren now. Both come from the masterpiece doll artist Monika Peter-Leicht.
I also had no idea that taking pictures of them would become a hobby for me. They put a smile on my face every day and I hope they do the same with you today for Smile on Saturday ❣️
You know, except for that tripod leg.... this might have been perfect. And the vignetting. And the fact that right about now the sky is getting dark, and we're both wondering if the dark black clouds floating downwind towards us are going to carry lightning bolts and torrential rain. We got lucky, just a light sprinkle and bolts flashing all around us at comfortable distances with a huge gap to the west. Well, luck might have had less to do with it than a good weather read, but I'll take luck over skill at reading weather any day of the week.

The red sandstone formations, the twisted pine trees, and the desert shrubs all work in concert to form a perfect masterpiece of nature. Even the dead trees find their way onto Ma Nature's canvas--they accent the landscape like costume jewelry on an evening gown.

Once in a while during the winter months, we are blessed with works of art. Sculpted and created by nature, they are truly a gift.
Light fluffy snow with no wind is the artist. It doesn't last long however, because after the front moves through comes the wind.

David is a masterpiece of Italian Renaissance sculpture, created from 1501 to 1504 by Michelangelo. With a height of 5.17 m, the David was the first colossal marble statue made in the early modern period following classical antiquity, a precedent for the 16th century and beyond. David was originally commissioned as one of a series of statues of twelve prophets to be positioned along the roofline of the east end of Florence Cathedra, but was instead placed in the public square in front of the Palazzo della Signoria. In 1873, the statue was moved to the Galleria dell'Accademia, and in 1910 replaced at the original location by a replica.

Gelati is a medieval monastic complex near Kutaisi, in the Imereti region of western Georgia. A masterpiece of the Georgian Golden Age, Gelati was founded in 1106 by King David IV of Georgia and is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The Gelati Monastery is in Kutaisi, Imereti Province, Georgia. It signifies the value of the Georgian christian orthodox religion. Inside the monastery is full of murals and an abundance amount imagery surrounding the interior of the church. It was one of the first monastery in Georgia and adds great value to the Georgian culture and beauty.
The nickname of The Gelati Monastery is the “Golden Age of Georgia”. The monastery was built during the byzantine empire which is known for the use of gold aesthetic in their paintings and buildings. It was built to show how christianity encompassed all of this land and that Georgia was filled with christian gospel all around even high up in the mountains. As the monastery is covered in arches that stretch over mountains show how encompassing the monastery is over the mountains and over the hills.

I haven't seen these stripes on a rainbow before, maybe it is rain pouring - I thought it was an outstanding masterpiece by nature.
