I was looking for an old medieval castle to take some internal shots in, so I searched for 'castle' in the old SL search engine. I saw this beautiful Castle, called Fayoum Al Amri (City of the Golden Dunes). I went there and discovered some lovely French guys who allowed me to take a pic or two........

Edmund loves pretending to cook. I swear he's aiming to be a celebrity chef in later life. He's obviously been watching his daddy at work, though, because he seems to feel that he needs more pans.

In the University of Helsinki, the degree which correlates to Master of Arts in in most cases called filosofian maisteri = master of philosophy. This applies to masters graduating from faculties of humanities, behavioral studies and mathematics & natural sciences.
The traditional festivities, held every 3-5 years, are called promootio (promotion). Potential promotees wear laurel circlet in their head, adopted from ancient Greco-Roman traditions. Also those who have attained doctoral degrees are celebrated in the ceremony. They get a black silk tophat (among other regalia) as a sign of their status. Bachelors aren't seen as truely graduated in Finland so they don't take part in this tradition.

Canon EOS 5D II on a tripod. 3 exposures (-2, 0,+2) and then Photomatix, import into photoshop, layering all 3 exposures+ the tone mapped photo. Post-processing in CS5 with Topaz Adjust and Topaz Denoise to get as close to what I saw when I was there. And finishing touches in Lightroom.
