I do not own the rights to these excellent box arts. I took 'em from www.grayskullmuseum.com...and I think Mattel ultimately owns them. They're here for my own personal references. But do enjoy them nonetheless!
This one was definitely influenced by Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli's "The Cat Returns"
and "Whisper of the Heart". I was actually thinking of Tenniel's drawings from Lewis Caroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", and the Baron somehow walked into the setting. Crow-quill pen and India Ink on Arches hot-pressed

Before the typhoon season in Taiwan, my umbrella broke. I could not close it. So I took it to the shop from where I bought it in Shilin. None other than the umbrella maker himself was there and fixed my umbrella just by twisting its handle. An interesting figure, I could not help but ask him if I could take a picture of his. And he, like tradition Chinese ShiFu (masters), complied to my request.

My friend Marek, great guy with golden hands.
I didn't see him for ages so couples of weeks ago while visiting my home town I decided to ring him up and see if I could come over. I could so we chatted and I took couple of portraits of him.
I also ordered new sencha/gyokuro teapot since my old one cracked. I'm looking forward to going to pick it up. Marek makes his own glazes from various soils found around place he lives at and when I saw a samples, one bluish glaze cought my eye.
I will try to make a "portrait" of that teapot also. :-)
