It tried so many angles and ways to light this mini ship in a bottle, that I nearly gave up!

Took this at a horseshoeing clinic a couple of weeks ago. The clinician was demonstrating how to forge weld a bar shoe. Of course I had to be front and center with a camera to catch the action. I think I might have even learned something too...
started on the forearms, and they are definitely way easier than the upper arms. Progress is... progressing :P Who know, I might even be done tomorrow.

Yesterday I made this little creation starring the trolls Tom, William and Bert from ´An unexpected Journey` fighting against Thorin and his company. Actually this creation is just a test-MOC for an upcoming much bigger Lord of the Rings creation.

Oreca 03 LMP2 driven by Jim Davenport. 460Hp Oreca 03-Nissan LMP2 (2012) Le Mans Series Racing Prototype - V8
The Formula Le Mans car is built by French manufacturer Oreca and known as the FLM09. The chassis is based on Courage's LC75 LMP2 chassis, while the car's carbon fiber and kevlar bodywork is a simplified version of the LC75's design. All FLM09s use a production-based General Motors small block LS3 V8 which produces approximately 430 horsepower (440 PS). Transmissions are supplied by Xtrac and feature a six-speed sequential transmission operated by paddle shifters. Engine management is regulated by Magneti Marelli. Up to 2012, all FLM09 cars ran on Michelin slick tires based on their LMP tires but in March 2013, it was announced that Continental AG would be the tire supplier for the LMP Challenge class in the upcoming American Le Mans Series season owing to Continental's deal with NASCAR as sole tire supplier for their sportscar arm. Reinforced carbon-carbon disc brakes are supplied by Brembo.
In order to accommodate endurance races in 2010, Oreca also offers an endurance upgrade for the FLM09 which adds an air restrictor to the engine to increase reliability as well as slowing the car in comparison to LMP2 category cars.
Set up with pirates booty captured on the high seas no doubt .. it's all good stuff to get a boys mind in pirate mode . What can be seen here is the ships tiller and whip staff steering mechanism .

Master of the Passion - the crucifixion - frescoes of 1430 apse of the Church of Santa Maria to the castle - Castello della Manta
Sulla ripida stradina che dal paese sale al castello e che, fino all’ Ottocento costituiva l’accesso principale a tutto il complesso, sorge una chiesetta, un tempo parte integrante della proprietà dei Saluzzo della Manta.
L’edificio contiene un ciclo di affreschi realizzati intorno al 1430 dal Maestro della Passione e raffiguranti episodi della vita di Gesù Cristo (al centro una complessa Crocifissione ricca di vivaci accenti macroespressivi)
On the steep slope that descends from the village to the castle and until the nineteenth century was the main access to the whole complex, there is a small church, which was once part of the property of Saluzzo della Manta.
The building contains a cycle of frescoes made around 1430 by the Master of the Passion and depicting episodes of Jesus Christ's life (in the center a complex Crucifixion rich in lively expressive macro accents)
Mick loves to play games. In the winter, when it's early dark I do this often with them, they have to think, it's good for their mental health.
We're fortunate to have a family of these marvelous woodpeckers on our property. They nest/breed here each year, and since they're used to us, at times they allow us to get quite close. They're very intelligent birds and will often call loudly if their suet feeder is empty :)
