I went to Lush and bought a present for a dear friend, of course I bought something for me, too. The lovely girls that work there gave me a great mask for my terrible skin. So I took all my lush stuff and did a spa afternoon just for myself!
Masks have always been a main feature of the Venetian carnival. Traditionally people were allowed to wear them between the festival of Santo Stefano (St. Stephen's Day, December 26) & the start of the carnival season & midnight of Shrove Tuesday
Whats behind the mask?
Its more complicated than what it may seem...
is there one, two, or three?
how many does it hide?
People are more complicated than a lot of things... you may think you know everything about a person, but dont judge what you see from their mask, it hides who they really are, and everyone wears one! no one is truly themselves, as those who try to prove it, are merely falling into the same trap! they put this mask on to prove who they are, is it really them?
get to know a person before you judge, however big or small that judgement is! everyone has their own problems, don't make them worse, what goes on in ones mind is unimaginable... there is happiness and rainbows and butterflies and all thats sweet! but there is also pain, pain that needs to be controlled... pain thats caused by judgments, stereotypes, and prejudice persons. so STOP!
love a person for who they are, and hate no one! :) i think it would have been cooler just with the mask, and without me in the background! :)
anyway, this image is a little badly framed, but its hard to do with a Diana F+ and get it right, since its film! and its a toy camera... anyway, i look miserable on this! shame :( i need to smile more :) haha!

Well I wanted to make it look like the mask was exhaling smoke but didn't quite work out. This shot was the best out of the bunch and it's def something I have to revisit when I understand things more.
The Rana Clay Mask is intended to firm & soften the skin, reduce sebum secretion, regenerate the skin by removing dead cells, and rebalance the skin by tightening the pores.
Rna Clay Mask is made using a natural mineral clay mined in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
To use it, you combine it with water to clean the face & body and has been used by Moroccan women for centuries to care for their skin and hair.

Hehe. It's the mask that Cecilia lent to me. My dad hates this mask. HAHA. He tried cleaning it and some of the purple came off, plus it's all glittery. I wasn't allowed to take it out of the plastic bag until I got to Fairmount. Didn't really get to wear it, but it's pretty all the same.

I picked up this mask as I was backpacking through Spain back in 1985. It is my first photo for my photo of the day 2010 project which I hope to complete. Wish me luck!

Mask Making, 2nd Grade
Montclair Elementary, Oakland CA, 2009
Students decided on a type of character (Leader, Spirit, Nature/Animal, Joker, Warrior) and created a mask based on that character. Masks were made by drawing on one side of a file folder and transferring the design onto the other side (a lesson in symmetry). They used tempera paint and oil pastels to color it in, then embellished it with feathers and yarn.
The above photo of the mask does not convince me at all, so here also decided to edit it.
I was four days trying to get me out the perfect picture with the mask, but when I came out, not sap which of the two pictures so here edit the two.
