We took a trip up to San Francisco to have lunch at Japantown and then go to the Palace of Legion of Honor. So for today's lunch, I had okonomiyaki and korokke. These are so good and pretty simple to make if you have leftover mashed potatoes. And they are so yummy.

My vegan Thanksgiving/Thanksliving pizza, with garlic and chive mashed potatoes, gravy, hickory smoked Tofurky deli slices, carrots, sweet corn, and green beans, all on a veggie broth-infused crust. Served with sides of stuffing, mashed potatoes (leftovers from the pizza!), mixed veggies (also leftovers), cranberry sauce - and more gravy, of course!
Recipe(s!) here.
Chef Jason made an amazing steak with mashed potatoes, baby corn, mushrooms, and an onion ring (the kids got mac and cheese featuring crushed goldfish crackers)

In my rush to make it back to the hostel for dinner, I was bloody proud I arrived in time for dinner right down to the minute.
This is the meal I ate at Luckys Cafe. Very good chicken fried chicken. Great kernel corn and mashed taters. Those onion rings in the background? Ate one of my sister's and it was yummy. Good ol' hot, stomach-pleasing food at this fine joint.
Ingredients:
Cranberries (raw)
Raw sugar
orange flesh and zest
Crushed pineapple
Sometimes I also use walnuts

With a promise like this, how could an offal lover *not* order this thick, whipped pile of mashed potatoes? Only thing was that if it were enriched with bone marrow neither JH nor I could taste it, although the side was neither stiff nor dry (so the marrow must have just been the fat used to lube up the starch). Pity.
This is what my girlfriends and I had for lunch at the K&W cafeteria the other day! Does this mean I'm old? (Mine is the fried chicken, watermellon, roll, iced tea, and the special order was fried okra!)
At my cousin Frank & Nell's house on Monday night in Alvaton, Kentucky! It's a feast every single time. In fact, it was critical to my scheduling to ensure I managed to be here on a Monday night so I wouldn't miss it!
Heading back to Texas first thing tomorrow.
