Marking a return to the 1908 number used for demonstrators has been this Electric Citaro. Internally it retains the posh feel of its diesel predecessor, and is much nicer to travel on than the BYD E400s now found en masse across Coventry. It’s pictured here departing Walsgrave University Hospital, with a 20C for Coventry City Centre. During its spell on loan it’s seen use exclusively on the 20 corridor, mainly the A/C variants though also a few trips to Bedworth. It’s also been sighted in the South Birmingham area, having presumably been privately tested over Yardley Wood’s route 27.
Route 20C is set to be withdrawn in January, which is a shame to see as it’s one of the more interesting routes in the city, skirting around the urban boundaries in part.

My daughter Evelien saw this huge male lion walking in the direction of the top of the dune at a distance of about 150 or 200 meters. She, like my wife, is like a ranger/tracker on a safari vehicle and will notice any movement in the direct vicinity!
Just imagine you are leaving the unfenced camp at 06:58 and several cars in front scanning the area for early morning wildlife. All of a sudden your daughter calling "lion on the right" resulting in extreme (though controlled) excitement among the passengers (and especially the driver) and an immediately stop of our car! :D)
As the lion obviously walked in the direction of our unfenced camp we turned the car and waited for her on the road leading to the camp! We made several nice shots before other cars jumped in!
What a luck: a nice lion, blue sky and red dunes!

I often complain about the amount of marking I do e.g. 94 essays over the holidays, another 32 to mark this week along side 20 jotters or so. But then that's 3 classes. It's nice to look back on photos like this and think at least I don't have 70 in my class!
It seems that children like to be graded the world over.
While I seldom take photos of sparrows, this one caught my attention with its dramatic markings. The gray crown, the deep rust colored feathering and the dark mottled breast were of particular note.
On a visit to Willowbank wild life park with a Flickr friend September 2019 Christchurch, New Zealand.
Although there are claims that the Damara breed of sheep originated in Egypt as long ago as 3000 BC, its recognition as a named breed is more realistically dated to the early twentieth century. In 1904, this long-legged sheep breed was seen by German explorers in the northern region of Namibia, which was then called Gross Damaland – hence it became known as the Damara Sheep. At one time, local farmers who used copper in their traditional attire, exchanged Damara Sheep for copper wire and for horses.

Tepu' showing us some of her prized tattoos decorating both her arms and legs. The nature of tattooing among indigenous tribes in Sarawak is a long and varied one outside of this scope, but among Kelabit women, tattoos used to be a measure of class and a symbol of beauty. Nowadays the practice is almost non-existent among younger generations.

I noticed you can just see the marks left by Daisy's mask here. But considering we were in the mall for nearly two hours, they are pretty minor. Well here is what we can thank for that: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4YVU4G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin...
It's a great makeup setting spray, that pretty much locks your makeup into place. An improved update to the old hairspray trick we used to do in the old days. The marks you see here were just from the pressure, and went away in a few minutes. We've noticed a slight rubbing off on the bridge of our noses where the friction is greatest...but that's a pretty easy fix. I really recommend this stuff!

After having rested in the shade of a Acacia Tree for much of the afternoon, these two Cheetah brothers finally got active late in the evening as it was getting cooler. They started of gently licking one another, rolling in the grass, friendly banter and finally scent marking the tree with a spray of urine to let others know that this is their territory.

OK, caught up on my "Year Ago Today" project, after being off line for a few days.
During the Northern Explorer tour with Pierre Duval from Bushbaby Safaris, Andy and Angie Rae from Rae Safaris, and the inimitable Andrew Goodall from Nature's Image Photography, we traveled west from Victoria Falls to Namibia's Skeleton Coast via some of the most spectacular scenery and incredible wildlife you could ever hope to see.
Day 7 was at Chobe Safari Lodge at Kasane. During the early morning game drive, we encountered this handsome male leopard marking out his territory. A wonderful experience at any time, but in the golden glow just after sunrise it was really special!
Great to look back on these happy times.

The damage to the fence looks as if it occurred on I-5 northbound. The 3 orange traffic safety cones were on the southbound shoulder area of a sideroad on which I was going south.
I put this on Flickr's map and it is probably not exact, but close to where I saw it. I had left I-5 South when I was done in Portland, and wanted to see if the road south from Enchanted Forest went toward some interesting (photographically) scenes I had spotted from I-5 freeway when I had driven up to Portland. It did in fact parallel I-5 for quite awhile. I had never actually been on that road before; so it was kind of interesting and fun.
