Here are some tilting target signals and crossing signal aspects. Target signals were used to protect crossings of other lines. A few target signals are still around to this day, however they aren't very common.

Here are some dwarf semaphore signals with the color purple used to show stop. Many railroads used the color purple on dwarf signals to show stop however this seems to have been discontinued around the 40s or so. Also notice the inclusion of Hall Disc signals. These were also known as Banjo or Banner signals because of their shape however they are very interesting in that they preceded semaphore signals on many railroads.

These specific ones are used as distance signals and when clear the lower window would show nothing, however when showing another aspect a colored dish swiveled into position and filled the window. Also a light of the same color was included in the top so that the indications could be discerned at night. Also here is a crossing gate signal.
