Steamtown, USA with smoke box front of former Canadian Pacific steam locomotive # 1246, a G5c class 4-6-2 Pacific, seen at the Riverside Station platform while leading a museum excursion train at Bellows Falls, Vermont, August 1982. Note the white flags indicating an extra train mounted to the front of the smoke box. This photo is not the bright and crisp photo you would expect to see, because it was taken on an overcast and rainy day, but it has an appeal of it's own..

On Thursday March 9, 2017, my Wife & I went to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida. There were many Kiddie Rides and numerous Big Boy/Girl Rides.

This photograph shows a Kiddie Train at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Apparently, Belle City Amusements is the prime Carnival Contractor and they supply most of the Rides, Games and Food Joints on the Midway.

The Strawberry Festival had a vast number of Rides and Food Joints and I'm sure Bell City Subcontracted other Carnival Vendors to fill the venue; either that, or the Strawberry Festival Board itself hired other Carnival Vendors to supply Rides & Food Vendors

I took these Seven (7) Photos sometime between October 11 & 21, 2004, while on a business trip in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Union Depot was designed by the "Spier and Rohms Architectural Firm" An Internet search shows the location of Union Depot as 637 East Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan. Google (also) shows the address as 100-192 Pere Marquette Drive in Lansing.

E. Michigan Ave. & Pere Marquette Drive intersect and the Depot, which subsequently was repurposed to become an Eatery called Clara's, faces on Pere Marquette Drive.

Notice the Drain Pipe from the Depot Roof extends out over the Passenger Coach.

As shown in Photo number (2 of 7), Passenger Service at the Depot began in 1902 for the Michigan Central & the Pere Marquette Railroads. The Depot closed in 1972. It was bought by Restaurateur Peter Jubeck in 1978 and was transformed into an Eatery in 1978. When I took my photos in October 2004, it was called Clara's, as shown by the sign, which can be seen in Photo number (1 of 7).

Lansing is mostly in Ingham County, however it also extends West into Eaton County and North into Clinton County. Lansing is the Capital of Michigan, however Lansing is not a County Seat. The County Seat of Ingham County, is Mason. Union Depot is in Ingham County.

Disclaimer: I took these photos in October 2004 with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 SLR using Slide Film, when I was just learning photograph; so they are very soft & grainy. I scanned the Slide and used Photoshop Elements to correct the exposure and to generate this Digital Image.

Tyseley's set T342 53055 - 59673 - 53056 at Barnt Green, unusually formed with a DMBS at each end (116DMBS-115TCL-116DMBS), on 03/Mar/1990. The nearest vehicle, 53055, is one of the earliest batch of class 116 which originally had four marker lights on the cab and still retains it's (disused) top marker light.

When Forge World released their latest rules update for Tau, Tetras suddenly became a no-brainer. They are now the cheapest way to get markerlights into a force, they are mobile and can be upgraded to BS4.

AAR American Railway Signaling Principles and Practices - Semaphore Signals 1948

These two photos were taken in the parking lot behind Kansas City Union Station next to the Main Line Tracks. Apparently the Rail Cars are owned by a Private Company called "Creative Promotions". The name of this Observation Car is CHICO and it was previous most likely a Sante Fe Railcar because the lettering Sante Fe appears on the ledger band above the windows. It appears to have a MARS Light & a Red Light on the rear vestibule along with marker lights below the roof.

The gun is converted to look like the type pathfinders carry, the conversion was done using some scrap plastic and bits of paper clip.

Long exposure with lens flare of a NRAO radio telescope. Photo was taken at NRAO observatory in Greenbank, WV. Original negative scanned with a Nikon Coolscan V.

This is the cover to the book. It is dated 1946, however it had been revised in 1950. This book covers the Eastern and South-Central sections of the UP system.

Automatic block section (ABS) rules showing the unique style of semaphore signals and sideways placement of tri-light signals which C&NW was famous for. These are stop and proceed aspects.

These are Automatic Block Signal (ABS) aspects for approach and advanced approach. Notice the use of semaphore signals still in the 1950s. However more modern tri-light signals are being used as well.

Here are the Erie Railroad signal aspects from 1952. The use of position lights for telephone orders is interesting.

Interlocking and Manual Block signals

I took this photo in March 1999 with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 35 mm SLR Film Camera with Color Print Film and I scanned the Negative to generate this Electronic Image. I took the photo at a car show, here in Florida, however I can't remember where, since I could not find my notes and I failed to mark the Slide with the pertinent information. I have a vague recollection of a show I attended in Homosassa or Homosassa Springs, Florida and this might be where I took the photo. This Photo shows a Motor Home from a Converted Bus.

Disclaimer: Since I took this photo in March 1999, while I was still learning Photography, some of my original Negatives are of poor quality in both Exposure and Sharpness, which I could only partially correct with Adobe Photoshop™.

Here are the signal aspects from 1948 for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad.

This is the Chicago Union Station Railroad signal rules from 1957.

Here is the operating rule book for the Belt Railway Company of Chicago (BRC) from 1974. It's odd to see that semaphore aspects are still included at this late of a date.

These are interlocking signals showing the stop aspect. Notice the use of semaphore signals still in the 1950s.

CCC&ST.L (Big Four) Railroad signal book from 1918. It's interesting that this book uses green, yellow, and red lenses and has yellow painted distant signal blades, unlike the book from 1913 which still uses green distant signal blades and white, green, red lenses.

Interlocking rules showing the unique style of semaphore signals and sideways placement of tri-light signals which C&NW was famous for. Also note pot signals (the disc shaped semaphore signals) and yellow distant signals. These are diverging clear, restricting, approach, and clear aspects

One of the first encountered variants of the mysterious alien invaders. This low-flying drone seems to be used as a scout of some sort. Operatives have noted its laser weapon to be innacurate at close ranges.

Here is the Rule book from the Lake Erie and Western Railroad from 1921, a year before it became a part of the Nickel Plate Road. In 1900, the Lake Erie and Western came under the control of the New York Central Railroad. After operating it as a separate entity for two decades, the New York Central sold the Lake Erie and Western to the Nickel Plate Railroad in 1922.
