With the comprehensive anniversary exhibition 300 years of VIENNA PORCELAIN MANUFACTURE, the MAK sheds light on the history and significance of Europe's second oldest porcelain manufactory. Founded in May 1718 by awarding an imperial privilege to porcelain production to Claudius Innocentius Du Paquier, the Viennese porcelain manufactory set aesthetic standards in the following decades. Around 1,000 objects from the collections of the MAK and from national and international collections offer an impressive overview of Viennese developments in the context of Asian precursors and European competitors.
Since its founding years, the MAK preserves the estate of the imperial led from 1744, 1864 closed Vienna porcelain manufactory and is dedicated to the study of porcelain. With examples from all epochs of production, the estate gives an overview of around 150 years porcelain production in Vienna. The Viennese porcelain production covered a broad ceramic spectrum: from dinner service and vases to clocks, high-quality porcelain sculptures, scenic and floral miniatures, porcelain paintings with relief gold decoration and cobalt blue to large-scale porcelain paintings with floral still lifes.
For major works of the Viennese porcelain manufactory, such as the porcelain room from the Brno Palais Dubsky (c. 1740) or the centerpiece from the Abbey Zwettl (Vienna, 1767/68), the exhibition 300 Years of WIENER PORZELLANMANUFAKTUR provides the latest scientific findings with previously unpublished documents. Both the "Dubsky Room", one of the first rooms with European porcelain, and the centerpiece from Zwettl Abbey are permanently exhibited in the Baroque Rococo Classicism MAK Collection designed by Donald Judd.

Mit der umfassenden Jubiläumsausstellung 300 JAHRE WIENER PORZELLANMANUFAKTUR beleuchtet das MAK die Geschichte und Bedeutung der zweitältesten europäischen Porzellanmanufaktur. Gegründet im Mai 1718 durch Vergabe eines kaiserlichen Privilegiums zur Porzellanerzeugung an Claudius Innocentius Du Paquier, setzte die Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur in den folgenden Jahrzehnten ästhetische Maßstäbe. Rund 1 000 Objekte aus den Beständen des MAK sowie aus nationalen wie internationalen Sammlungen bieten einen eindrucksvollen Überblick über Wiener Entwicklungen im Kontext asiatischer Vorläufer und europäischer Konkurrenten.
Seit seinen Gründungsjahren bewahrt das MAK den Nachlass der ab 1744 kaiserlich geführten, 1864 geschlossenen Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur und widmet sich der Erforschung des Porzellans. Mit Beispielen aus allen Epochen der Produktion gibt der Nachlass einen Überblick über rund 150 Jahre Porzellanherstellung in Wien. Die Wiener Porzellanproduktion deckte ein breites keramisches Spektrum ab: von Tafelservice und Vasen über Uhren, qualitätsvolle Porzellanskulpturen, szenische und florale Miniaturen, Porzellanmalereien mit Reliefgolddekor und Kobaltblau bis hin zu großformatigen Porzellanbildern mit Blumenstillleben.
Zu Hauptwerken der Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur, wie dem Porzellanzimmer aus dem Brünner Palais Dubsky (um 1740) oder dem Tafelaufsatz aus dem Stift Zwettl (Wien, 1767/68), liefert die Ausstellung 300 JAHRE WIENER PORZELLANMANUFAKTUR mit bis dato unveröffentlichten Dokumenten neueste wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse. Sowohl das „Dubsky-Zimmer“, eine der ersten Zimmerausstattungen mit europäischem Porzellan, als auch der Tafelaufsatz aus dem Stift Zwettl sind permanent in der von Donald Judd gestalteten MAK-Schausammlung Barock Rokoko Klassizismus ausgestellt.

Dow slammed by 1,000 points in worst drop of 2021 on fears about new Covid variant
U.S. stocks dropped sharply on Friday as a new Covid variant found in South Africa triggered a global shift away from from risk assets.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1000 points, or 2.8%, for its worst day of the year, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite slid 2.3% and 2.2%, respectively. Friday is a shortened trading day because of the Thanksgiving holiday with U.S. markets closing at 1 p.m. ET.
The downward moves came after WHO officials on Thursday warned of a new Covid-19 variant that’s been detected in South Africa. The new variant contains more mutations to the spike protein, the component of the virus that binds to cells, than the highly contagious Delta variant. Because of these mutations, scientists fear it could have increased resistance to vaccines, though WHO said further investigation is needed.
The United Kingdom temporarily suspended flights from six African countries due to the variant. Israel barred travel to several nations after reporting one case in a traveler. Two cases were identified in Hong Kong. Belgium also confirmed a case.
“When I read that there’s one [case] in Belgium and one in Botswana, we’re going to wake up next week and find one in this country. And I’m not going to recommend anyone buy anything today until we’re sure that isn’t going to happen, and I can’t be sure that it won’t,” CNBC’s Jim Cramer said.
Bond prices rose and yields tumbled amid a flight to safety. The yield on the benchmark U.S. 10-year Treasury note fell 12 basis points to 1.52% (1 basis point equals 0.01%). This was a sharp reversal as yields jumped earlier in the week to above 1.68% at one point. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
Asia markets were hit hard in Friday trade, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index both falling more than 2%. Bitcoin fell 8%.
The Cboe Volatility Index, often referred to as Wall Street’s “fear gauge,” rose to 28, its highest level in two months. Oil prices also tumbled, with U.S. crude futures down 10% and breaking below $70 per barrel.
Travel-related stocks were hit hardest with Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean down 13.5% and 11.9%, respectively. United Airlines dropped more than 13%, while American Airlines dropped 12.5%. Boeing lost more than 7% and Marriott International fell nearly 10%.
Bank shares retreated on fears of the slowdown in economic activity and the retreat in rates. Bank of America dropped 5.3% and Citigroup slid 4.8%.
Industrials linked to the global economy declined led by Caterpillar off by 4.9%. Dow Inc. shed 3.8%. Chevron dropped 3.6% as energy stocks reacted to the rollover in crude prices.
On the flip side, investors huddled into the vaccine makers. Moderna shares surged 27%. Pfizer shares added 5%.
Some of the stay-at-home plays that gained in the earlier months of the pandemic were higher again. Zoom Video added more than 7% and Peloton gained 4%.
“It’s important to stress that very little is known at this point about this latest strain, including whether it can evade vaccines or how severe it is relative to other mutations. Therefore, it’s hard to make any informed investment decisions at this point,” Bespoke Investment Group’s Paul Hickey said in a note to clients. “Historically speaking, chasing a rally or selling into a sharp decline (especially on a very illiquid trading day) rarely ends up being profitable, but that isn’t stopping a lot of people this morning.”
Several investment professionals told CNBC on Friday that the sell-off could be a buying opportunity.
“Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, probably not as many traders on the desks with an early close today. So potentially lower liquidity is causing some of the pullback,” Ajene Oden of BNY Mellon Investor Solutions said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “But the reaction we’re seeing is a buying opportunity for investors. We have to think long-term.”

According to unofficial information, this is the only active vehicle of the Czechoslovak Tatra brand in Banja Luka, and perhaps beyond. The mixer in the picture is owned by the company "Binis Beton", which previously had another such mixer only in red-yellow painting, which was current with the founding of the company in 1990. Detta huset användes som fårhus runt år 1900. Vid södra gaveln finns rester efter ett avträde. Lägg märke till hur väggarna är uppbyggda av stora stenhällar.

Björsjöås eller Åsen som den ofta kallas är en av de gamla gårdarna i Vättlefjäll. Namnet kommer från att gården låg på en ås nära Björsjön. Alla gårdarna här uppe är så kallade ensamgårdar som ligger var och en för sig och inte bildar en by. Gårdarna i Vättlefjäll är kända sedan 1500-talet. Troligen fanns de tidigare.
Bönderna som slog sig ner här uppe i bergsområdet hägnade in ett mindre område omkring gården. Innanför denna stengärdesgård låg åkrar och ängar, de så kallade inägorna. Utanför gick djuren och betade på den så kallade utmarken. Denna var gemensam för alla gårdarna i Vättlefjäll och även för byarna nere på Bergumslätten.
Här i Björsjöås finns bara bostadshuset kvar. Det byggdes i slutet av 1800-talet och byggdes om på 1930-talet. Den gamla gården låg uppe på höjden bakom huset. Där finns ruiner kvar efter flera hus.
Bilden är tagen från en stig på en dryg kilometer runt den gamla gårdens ägor. Längs stigen finns skyltar som berättar om de spår man fortfarande kan se efter verksamheter i området.

This house was used as a sheep house around the year 1900. At the southern end are remnants of a privy. Notice how the walls are constructed of large stone slabs.

Björsjöås or Åsen as it is often called, is one of the old farms in Vättlefjäll. The name comes from the farm location on a ridge near lake Björsjön. All the farms up here is the so-called isolated farms which are each separately and do not form a village. The farms in Vättlefjäll is known since the 1500s. Probably they were there before.
The farmers who settled here in the mountain area farmed in a small area around the farm. Inside this stone fence low fields and meadows, the so-called infields. Outside were the animals grazing on the so-called outfields. This was common for all the farms in Vättlefjäll and also for villages down at Bergum plain.
Here in Björsjöås only the residential building remains. It was built in the late 1800s and was rebuilt in the 1930s. The old farm was located on the hill behind the house. There are ruins left after several houses.
The picture was taken from a 1 km path around the old farm estate. Along the trail there are signs telling about the tracks can still be seen by businesses in the area.

Das Fass hat mit roten Buchstaben auf gelbem Grund oder mit gelben Buchstaben auf rotem Grund die Aufschrift "Feinstes Weinsauerkraut mit Wacholderbeeren / Marke Feinschmecker / Friedrich Tinius, Berlin N. 58".
Die Brüder Friedrich und Wilhelm Tinius ließen 1909-1911 in der Raumerstraße 37-38 (seit 1920 Nr. 27) ein für damalige Verhältnisse sehr modernes vierstöckiges Wohnhaus errichten, in dem Wilhelm bis an sein Lebensende und zeitweise auch Friedrich wohnten. Dort befanden sich auch Büroräume und Lagerräume der Fabrik. Laut Bauzeichnungen gab es am hinteren Hofende eine Transportrampe.
In den Adressbüchern ist bei Friedrich Tinius (1865-1953) auch oft die Wohnanschrift Rothenbachstraße 48-50 in Berlin-Heinersdorf angegeben. Hier befand sich die Sauerkohlfabrik, die bereits 1896 von den Brüdern Tinius gegründet und ins Handelsregister eingetragen worden war. Das Grundstück dafür hatten sie 1894 gekauft.
Vorher schon gab es im Wedding in der Hussitenstraße 13 die Tinius, F. Sauerkohlfbrk., Preiselbeeren, Engr..
In Heinersdorf hatte sich Friedrich Tinius auch als ehrenamtlicher Bürgermeister um die vorstädtische Entwicklung des Ortes verdient gemacht.
Nach 1945 erscheint in den Adressbüchern als zweiter Teilhaber der Sauerkohlfabrik neben Friedrich Tinius der Sohn seines Bruders, Heinz Tinius. Bis 1972 war die Firma ein "Betrieb mit staatlicher Beteiligung" (BSB). Am 24.4.1972 wurde die Friedrich Tinius Sauerkohlfabrik in die Wirtschaftsvereinigung Obst, Gemüse und Speisekartoffeln Berlin unter dem Namen: Volkseigener Verarbeitungsbetrieb Venetia, Betriebsteil Rohkonserven Pankow überführt und damit verstaatlicht.
Friedrich Tinius besitzt ein Grab auf dem Heinersdorfer Friedhof, welches heute als Grabdenkmal geschützt ist..
Die Heinersdorfer Tiniusstraße wurde vor 1902 nach Friedrich Tinius benannt.

In 1909-1911, the brothers Friedrich and Wilhelm Tinius had a very modern four-story residential building built at Raumerstraße 37-38 (after 1920 No. 27), where Wilhelm lived until the end of his life and Friedrich also lived for a time. On April 24, 1972, the Friedrich Tinius Sauerkohlfabrik was incorporated into the Wirtschaftsvereinigung Obst, Gemüse und Speisekartoffeln Berlin under the name: Volkseigener Verarbeitungsbetrieb Venetia, Betriebssteil Rohkonserven Pankow and thus nationalized. Friedrich Tinius has a grave in the Heinersdorf cemetery, which is now protected as a memorial. Heinersdorfer Tiniusstraße was named after Friedrich Tinius prior to 1902.
