A German Erdal-Kwak collector's card depicting an assault on a British position.

Erdal produced "Red Frog Brand" (Marke Rotfrosch) shoe and leather polish, while Kwak was a maker of floor wax (Bohnerwachs). Together they put out a series of Great War cards in the late twenties.

The infantrymen are quite accurately portrayed, while the flamethrower squad is more impressionistic.

Since the Treaty of Versailes had banned German flamethrowers in 1920, the card artist may not have had access to the weapon and therefore fudged its appearance.

Ein erstes Versuchsmodell, E1A ( reines Straßenfahrzeug ) genannt, war bereits im Jahr 1958 fahrbereit darauf folgte

- der Prototyp E2A , 1960 auf die Rennstrecke.

- Speziell für Rennen wurde eine Aluminiumversion des E-Type konstruiert. Mit einer leistungsstärkeren Version der 3,8-Liter-Maschine kam der Rennwagen unter anderem in Le Mans und Sebring zum Einsatz.

Damit beschleunigt der E-Type in ca. 7 Sekunden auf 100 km/h und erreicht eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 241 km/h.

Im September 1974 endete die Produktion des E-Type, was jedoch erst 1975 bekannt gegeben wurde. 15.508 Exemplare mit 3,8-Liter-Motor, 41.734 mit 4,2-Liter und 15.293 V12-Modelle wurden gebaut.

Its combination of good looks, high performance, and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960s motoring.

A great success for Jaguar, over seventy thousand E-Types were sold during its lifespan.

Nakon 1. svjetskog rata i raspada Austrougarske, pitanje statusa grada Rijeke postaje veliki međunarodni problem ili riječko pitanje. U jeku spora između Kraljevine SHS i Kraljevine Italije, međunarodne sile zagovaraju uspostavu nezavisne tampon države. Američki predsjednik Woodrow Wilson postaje arbitar u jugoslavensko-talijanskom sporu oko grada. Predlaže da se grad Rijeka stavi pod međunarodni patronat Lige naroda ili pet velikih sila, ali taj plan nije usvojen.

U samom gradu dolazi do bezvlađa pa grad u vrlo kratkom vremenu prelazi iz ruke u ruku Južnoslavenskog nacionalnog komiteta i talijanskog nacionalnog vijeća da bi se na kraju anglo-francuske trupe iskrcale s ratnog broda i zaposjele grad. Takvu konfuznu situaciju koristi talijanski pjesnik Gabriele D'Annunzio koji sa svojim anarho-fašističkim pokretom 1919. godine zaposjeda grad i proglašava talijansku regenciju Kvarnera.

Dana 12. studenoga 1920., Kraljevina Italija i Kraljevina SHS potpisuju Rapallski ugovor kojim obje strane priznaju 'potpunu slobodu nezavisnost Države Rijeka i obavezuju se da će to vječno poštivati'. Tim aktom stvorena je Slobodna Država Rijeka koja će de facto postojati jednu, a de iure četiri godine. Novostvorenu državu odmah priznaju sve svjetske sile uključujući SAD, Francusku i Veliku Britaniju. D'Annunzio ne priznaje sporazum te je akcijom talijanska regularna vojska istjeran iz grada (Krvavi Božić 24. - 29. prosinca).

Godine 1921. održavaju se prvi parlamentarni izbori na kojima se suprotstavljaju autonomaši i nacionalni pro-talijanski blok. Autonomna stranka, (uz podršku i većine glasova riječkih Hrvata) dobija 6558, a nacionalni blok (fašistička, liberalna i demokratska stranka) 3443 glasova. Predsjednik Vlade postaje šef Autonomne stranke Riccardo Zanella.

Godine 1922. fašisti izvode puč, a legalna Vlada bježi u Kraljevicu.

Riječka luka 1923. godine

Godine 1924. Rimskim ugovorom Kraljevina SHS pristaje na priključenje Rijeke Italiji, Vlada SDR taj čin smatra međunarodno pravno ništavnim te nastavlja djelovati u izgnanstvu.

Kapitulacijom Italije riječko pitanje ponovno postaje aktualno te grupa građana 1944. godine objavljuje 'Liburnijski memorandum' kojim se predlaže konfederalna država s tri kantona Rijekom, Sušakom i Bistricom. Otoci Krk, Cres i Lošinj ušli bi u zajednički kondominij. Predsjednik riječke Vlade u egzilu Riccardo Zanella traži ponovnu uspostavu Slobodne Države Rijeke budući talijanske aneksija 1924. godine nije bila međunarodno priznata.

Tome se suprotstavlja komunistička jugoslavenska vlast koja 3. svibnja 1945. godine oslobađa grad od njemačke okupacije. Prvi dani nove vlasti obilježavaju masovna strijeljanja aktivista Autonomne stranke iako su od 1943. većinom financijski podupirali antifašistički pokret. Mirovnim ugovorom u Parizu 1947. godine, Rijeka je uz Istru službeno pripojena Hrvatskoj i Jugoslaviji.

Veliki broj Riječana odlazi u izgnanstvo dijelom zbog nacionalnih, dijelom zbog ideoloških razloga te po svijetu osnivaju Slobodne riječke općine.

Deze bescheiden hoeve aan de Moteweg in Marke (Kortrijk) dateert uit de 18de eeuw. De verschillende gebouwen staan los opgesteld rond een verhard erf. Het sobere interieur van het bakstenen boerenhuis met opkamer bleef vrij gaaf bewaard. De boerderij omvat verder een 19de-eeuws schuurtje, een varkensstal en een aan de straat gelegen bakhuisje. De hoeve, die nu is ingericht als kinderboerderij, werd in 2004 beschermd als monument.
