Mario was begging me to go back to the country after he had developed a taste for the lifestle. I told him I would take him again soon, but only as long as he did his chores around the house and kept up his fitness program he started the day after New Years but had let fall by the wayside.
Luckily Toad was such a good friend he was there to encourage him, even after the "difficulties" last week.
This is Mario, he's a character of the video game series Super Mario and was created by the company Nintendo.

I met Mario while he was performing in Lisbon Portugal. I was
really amazed by his great tricks and sense of humour. I think
they are many similarities between visual arts and magic.

Illusions of Me

Closed eyes are longing for something,
That isn't here with us yet, or anymore;
To its inner self and its soul it’ll sing,
Of what it aspires for its own deplore...
But knowing it still, this is of the unknown,
Unborn perhaps, though not uncertain;
A thought for a moment yet not fully shown,
The distances of any dream behind a curtain.
Aims like these are close in their stance,
Like the past is sometimes: a moment still here;
Like it is advancing for its second chance,
It didn't have in the past tense year.
Knowing what they are, I dare not defy:
A thought for the moment I forgot not yet;
But as for all inner grasps - how uncertain am I,
Perhaps it's only an illusion that got backset?

This is my Mario mushroom quilt after I finished all the piecing. Each mushroom is about 32"x32" made with 2" squares. I am now in the middle of quilting it, but I keep breaking sewing machines.

Wow! Big news for Italy - according to all the newspapers in the UK today.
After the resignation of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, they have put in his place Super Mario.

Me on character duties again, dropping another dark twist on a popular character...hard work but I enjoyed it. I got wrapped up in it and then twigged "oh fuck, I have a piece to do!"
This was a cool image so I decided to upload it! What is your #1 Mario Kart game? Even though Mario Kart 8 is really really good, Mario Kart Double Dash will always be my favorite!
Mario was singing on the corner of State and Randolph. He was very friendly and had a smile on his face. He's been homeless for about five years. He's on a waiting list for housing, but that can take years (it's been two years for him). His mom is in senior housing. He can't sleep there, but he can shower there, so that helps him out.
He grew up on the West Side of Chicago, which is not a good place to be. He was raised by a single mom and he did his "juvenile thing", in his words and got involved in drugs and gangs, which landed him in prison. But he's in a better place now and knows that that kind of lifestyle is a dead end.
He's always enjoyed singing and was in a few talent competitions. He was depressed when some of his heroes (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Prince) passed away. He wanted to pursue a career in music, but after seeing these artists pass away, he decided not to continue.
He has had some temp work, but nothing steady. His faith keeps him going.
