The white sand and tranquil waters of Hopeground Beach are found on Maria Island, a remote mountainous island located in the Tasman Sea off the east coast of Tasmania, Australia. Said to have more beaches than any other country, Australia has 10,685 beaches (if defined as a stretch of sand longer than 20 metres (66ft) and remaining dry at high tide) so you could visit a new beach every day for almost 30 years. Die erlesene Ausstattung macht den schlichten Bau zu einem der sehenswertesten Gotteshäuser im ganzen Allgäu.
The Catholic parish and pilgrimage church of Maria Rain is located in Maria Rain, a district of the municipality Oy-Mittelberg. She is characterized by her age and by the pilgrimage associated with it for centuries as venerable.
The exquisite equipment makes the simple building one of the most worth seeing places of worship in the whole Allgäu.
Die heutige Pfarrkirche Mariä Geburt steht im nördlichen Teil von Rottenbuch in Pfaffenwinkel. Sie wurde 1073 als Stiftskirche des Klosters Rottenbuch errichtet und steht heute unter Denkmalschutz
Der reich verzierte Innenraum ist nicht zu vergleichen mit dem schlichten Äußeren der Pfarrkirche. Zahlreiche Ornamente, Figuren und Malereien an Wänden und Decke überraschen den Besucher.
The present parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary stands in the northern part of Rottenbuch in Pfaffenwinkel. It was built in 1073 as the collegiate church of the Rottenbuch monastery and is now a listed building.
The richly decorated interior cannot be compared to the simple exterior of the parish church. Numerous ornaments, figures and paintings on the walls and ceiling surprise the visitor.
Maria's Glass frog (Nymphargus mariae) - Amazonian Andes, Ecuador
One of the glass frog species I was lucky to see in Ecuador. This one in particular was a treat because Nymphargus is a genus that I'm particularly fond of but haven't seen in years! These frogs are reliant on clean water and high quality habitat, the area I found these in must have been high quality indeed as I found a total of 5 species of glass frog there. More than I have seen at any one site before.

The Benedictine Abbey Maria Laach is located on the southwest side of the Laacher See, four kilometers north of Mendig in the Eifel, and was built between 1093 and 1216 as the foundation of Heinrich II. von Laach and his wife Adelheid.
The six-tower monastery church, the Laacher Münster, is a vaulted pillar basilica with a magnificent west entrance, the so-called paradise (unique in this way north of the Alps) and the cloister from the beginning of the 13th century, restored in 1859. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful monuments of Romanesque architecture from the Salier period in Germany.

Bei der Kirche Maria Schnee mit ihren zwei Türmen spricht man landläufig auch vom "Dom der Buckligen Welt", Diese Kirche stammt zum Unterschied der meisten anderen Kirchen der Buckligen Welt, die als Wehrkirchen im Mittelalter entstanden, erst aus den letzten hundert Jahren. Sie weist eine Baugeschichte auf, über die noch zu berichten sein wird.
The Maria Schnee church with its two towers is commonly referred to as the "cathedral of the Bucklige Welt" (~world of hills"). Unlike most other churches in the "world of hills", which were built as fortified churches in the Middle Ages, this church dates back only to the last hundred years. It has a building history that will be reported on later.
St. Mariä Himmelfahrt ist die älteste Kirche in Deggendorf. Sie befindet sich in der Unteren Vorstadt von Deggendorf. Das barocke Langhaus der Kirche wurde zwischen 1655 und 1657 errichtet.
Der barocke Hochaltar aus rotem und weißem Marmor wurde 1749 von dem Künstler Matthias Seybold geschaffen. Er stand ursprünglich im Dom zu Eichstätt und wurde 1881 nach Deggendorf verkauft.Die Kanzel stammt aus der Zeit um 1760.Die Deckenmalereien aus der Zeit um 1750 stammen von dem Maler Joseph Wilhelm Seidl.
Maria accompanied Allie to our photoshoot. We decided to do something a little different with her. They both loved the Paint ideas, so we ran with it. I still have one more image of this series to edit. Plus we have a few more shots we did that are different ideas, so plenty more ahead.

This is dedicated to my dear friend I met in South Africa, Gabi.
The tree is a very special tree and is known to the local Shaman for it's powers. Maria Khosa is a Shangaan shaman and highly respected in the area and holds ceremonies under this tree.
On 10th November 1991, a group of white South Africans (including Linda Tucker) became stranded at night in the open bush in Timbavati and became surrounded in the dark by a pride of angry lions looking for a kill. After several hours of the lions circling them and the growing fear that engulfed them, they had given up their fate to never seeing daylight again as the lions became more and more intense.
Eventually when they were close to death, out of the dark emerged a figure walking slowly towards them with a baby on her back and a child at her side. It was Maria and she walked straight through the pride of lions to the stranded people. She was in a trance and she calmed the lions which allowed one of the party to run back for help. A few years later, Linda had met with Maria and Maria (through an interpreter) had said that she had heard them calling and so talked to the lion's ancestors and they spoke to the lions to let her through safely.
Well there is much more to the story but this is a very condensed version!
There is much peace to be had around this area and you can sit under trees like this for hours with total relaxation. A feeling to treasure for me that you cannot photograph.

The upper portion of the steeple of the church of Maria am Gestade in Vienna. The name means "Mary on the Banks," referring to the branch of the Danube River that used to reach the site. The Danube Canal is now a short walk away, down a set of stairs.
Maria am Gestade doesn't get many tourists, but it's one of the loveliest churches in the city. The interior is slightly bent to accommodate the long-ago shoreline, which adds to the charm.

Earlier this year, Maria came to visit Buckingham Camera Club in order to model. She was lit by a couple of LED studio lights. Like the pose. Not too sure about the rug she's standing on (although I did have the option to remove it)
