Am 02. Februar wird Maria Lichtmess, das Fest zur Darstellung des Herrn im Tempel, 40 Tage nach Weihnachten gefeiert. An diesem Tag vereinen sich biblische und weltliche Traditionen.
Neben Maria Plain zählt Maria Kirchental zu den beliebtesten Wallfahrtsorten im Salzburgerland. Kaum ein anderer Ort weit und breit kann eine so beeindruckende Einheit von Natur und Kultur, von Geschichte und Gegenwart aufweisen. Seit über 300 Jahren pilgern Salzburger, Tiroler, Oberösterreicher und Bayern zu diesem 900 m hoch gelegenen Gnadenort zu Füßen der Loferer Steinberge. „Bergkristall unter den Wallfahrtsorten“ hat ihn Alterzbischof Eder nach Abschluß der Renovierungsarbeiten im September 2001 genannt.

Volkach - Wallfahrtskirche im Weinberg
Die katholische Wallfahrtskirche Maria im Weingarten liegt über dem fränkischen Weinort Volkach an der Mainschleife im unterfränkischen Landkreis Kitzingen. Die spätgotische Kirche liegt mitten in den Weinbergen des mainfränkischen Weinanbaugebiets auf dem Volkacher Kirchberg. Sie beherbergt noch heute ein bedeutendes Kunstwerk des Bildschnitzers Tilman Riemenschneider.
Maria Island sits in the Tasman Sea off the east coast of Tasmania. Home for centuries to the local Aboriginals. But with the arrival of white settlers, it became a penal colony then as a farming and industrial base.
It is now a national park and home to a large variety of flora and fauna.
It is a great place to see bare-nosed wombats wandering around.
The trees give a very clear indication on how windy it generally is here.

Maria am Gestade ("Mary at the Shore") is a Gothic church in the 1st district of Vienna, Am Gestade ("At the shore") is the name of the staircase and the square below it. The street in the foreground is called Tiefer Graben ("Deep Ditch"), because it used to be a deep stream valley.

The Nao Santa Maria is a replica of the flagship used by Christopher Columbus during his first voyage to the Americas in 1492. It is a four-masted nao (carrack), meticulously crafted using 15th-century techniques. The replica is a floating museum, offering public tours where visitors can explore the ship's decks and learn about its historical significance.
Maria Island is just off Tasmania's east coast south of the famous Freycinet Peninsula. The island is separated from the shore by Mercury Passage.
Maria Island has been a convict station, concrete works, farm and is now a National Park and Tasmanian Devil sanctuary.
