Not as pretty as in past years because of some dry weather we had later in the summer but still pretty, lots of leaves dropped before they really could turn good. We also are having trouble with the Asiatic Beetle which is infesting a lot of trees. The warmer summers up here are not helping the Sugar Maples. :( In years past they looked healthier than this. I am very concerned that after awhile we will no longer have our beautiful Sugar Maples here, they are dying rapidly and only maybe northern New England and Canada will have them. :(
November 3rd I gathered the colorful maple and plum leaves we had in our yard and took photos using my diy light tent. I took over 100, and my 14 favs can be seen in this set.

Ahh this tree...one of my favorites in my yard. I grew this from a stray seedling and now it is an 8 foot tree. I love the way the sunlight plays on the red leaves. Couldn't resist posting several pics of this tree, I couldn't decide which I liked best...
These maple trees on campus seem to have only female flowers. Last year I only caught them after they started setting seeds. This is what they look like before. The flowers have exploded all over the trees over just the past few days when we had warm weather.
Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail
The Old Natchez Trace was a 500-mile footpath that ran through
Choctaw and Chickasaw lands connecting Natchez, Mississippi,
to Nashville, Tennessee. You can experience portions of that journey
the way earlier travelers did - on foot. Today there are four separate
trails totaling 65 miles and they are administered by the
Natchez Trace Parkway.
