... of the hike photographed in this set. See this page for an interactive map.
Our hike is the red track. We had hoped to connect to Westface Trail (black track), and take it over to Fantasy Canyon to make a loop trail, but despite how close we came, we never could find the end of that trail.
Additionally, it was already close to 3pm, and on a late October day, we weren't sure we had enough daylight to do the loop option.
Please see my webpage on this hike for a complete trip report.
This would have resolved the conflicts between Southern Pacific trains and 4th Street traffic by building a bridge between Brannan and Berry Streets. Instead, the rail lines were cut back to the current Caltrain station at 4th and King Street.

In the car I was like Tina Thörner, the famous Swedish map reader. We did not miss one singel turn. That I know of.

We were utterly charmed by these old maps (Newfoundland is labelled as Codfish Land). We had not a great moment getting harassed by the powertripping guards in the Sistine Chapel previous to this. The paintings were gorgeous of course but the way we were all gruffly addressed left a bad taste in the mouth.

Phil paced Ingrid from Sierra at Lake Tahoe to the Big Meadow trailhead parking lot - approximately 20 miles. Ingrid solo'd the 60.4 miles from Homewood to Sierra without sleep, and was pretty shagged.
Nice vintage map. You can never have too many maps.
I'm uploading scans from 2009. I'll have to dig around to find the sources for some of these bits.

Maps of global progress toward grain fortification are consistently the most popular download from FFI's website. Here Bob Baldwin shares a slide with the 2011 map during a meeting of the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus in 2011.
To complete the Library of Congress - National Library Service project from earlier this year, we created this tactile floor plan map in partnership with LightHouse for the Blind - San Francisco Bay Area. LightHouse created the 3D print map on acrylic, and we fabricated the custom freestanding table display in house. This map will replace an outdated sign in their main lobby, and will be used to direct visually impaired visitors in Washington DC.

Trying to understand the topography better.
Bottom left is 10 south, 15 east; top right is 5 south, 20 east – the square is about 500 km (300 mi) on a side. Kinshasa is just to the NNW and Luanda is just to the WSW.

Map shows how Federal Patent and Tradmark offices anchor a TOD project at an infill site between two metro stations. Each station is about 1/3 a mile from the center of the project. I have been told that even at that distance the Patent ofices have a 50% transit mode share.

Map and information from Barry Weaver's St. Helena Virtual Library and Archive at www.bweaver.nom.sh A fantastic resource of books, maps and views of St. Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.
The map above is from the 1732 edition of Herman Moll's Atlas, originally published in London in 1729, there were numerous subsequent editions of Moll's atlas from 1732 on through the mid-1760s. Moll's map mostly is derived from an earlier map by John Seller but has some notable differences. The overall outline of the island is smoother and Sugerlofe Pt is not as prominent as on Seller's map. Landing Place and Watering Place have been added at the mouth of James Valley, and, compared to Seller's map, George Island has become St. Georges I., Horse Pasture Point has become Horse and Pasture Pt, Banckes Platform has become Blankerts Platform, Manate Bay has become Manata Bay, and Powells Bay has become Pervels Bay.
The longitude given on the map for James Fort is further west than actual but it was only in 1736 that Harrison conducted the first trial (from London to Lisbon) of his marine clock, accurate timekeeping being essential for accurately determining longitude. The first transatlantic trial of his improved clock was not until 1761.
