This chap was rather good; I took a lot of pics of him, but this was probably my favourite. I think next time, I'd go for an extra stop of speed and push the ISO to 1600; still, a bit of panning worked out reasonably well here.

I've been wanting to do the 365 project for quite some time and decided I would finally give it a shot.
Day 1: A shot from Howard Hughes Promenade.
I chose this shot just to get the ball rolling. I think doing this project will help me get more creative with my shots by choosing interesting subjects and playing with exposures. Needless to say, this isn't the most creative photo, but I loved the lights. 1 down, 364 to go :)

So I finally bit the bullet and had a switched my camera to manual mode and surprisingly enjoyed it, having previously only used AV or TV.
Being able to change the aperture depending what I want in focus and how much, whilst being able to change the shutter speed to be fast enough to keep the image sharp but slow enough to let enough light in and also setting the ISO low enough to avoid noise, is great.
Luckily I only take photos of still objects so there's no pressure in me taking a million years to get the settings right in between shots lol.
