Instruction manual for the West Gate Bridge monitoring system circa 1991, operated on a ATC002 computer system. It replaced an earlier Cromemco Z80-based computer system.
experimented a little with a few FD lenses... this is as sharp as it gets - the 135mm 3.5

I grew up reading Marvel Comic books -- The Amazing Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four... One thing I liked before they invented movie special effects was showing transformations on paper. Like when Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk, or when Curt Connors becomes the Lizard. That's the kind of effect I've always strived for in making my reviewers for my science subjects -- if I can draw it the way it's supposed to happen sequentially, then I can understand it.

Since I went digital, I've used auto-focus lenses. I've just bought three (very cheap) manual focus lenses from China: to see if I could learn to do without auto-focus. I'm pleased with this attempt.

I was going through some old boxes in the basement and was excited to find this. It is a portable (and very manual) adding machine that would have been used before caculators were available/affordable. Based on an Internet search, it appears this is from 1955. I think my great aunt gave it to me when I was a kid to play with.
