This is my version of this bird.

I've been working on this image for 2 months! Never could seem to get it to "look right", and even now I pick out all the mistakes immediately, but I'm finally to a point where it feels done.
What do y'all think? I would really, really, really appreciate some feedback on this!

This is an image I created with my photo of a ball jar and marbles I designed completely in Photoshop.
To create the marbles, I used round pieces of a few of my other photos, then swirled them to make them look like marble textures. I copied each one over a copy of itself, but turned in a different direction, with both pieces being transparent enough so they resembled a glass marble. I used colored overlays to create a variety of colors. Then I looked at photos of marbles online to see where highlights and shadows fell and added those.
At first I planned to "fill" the jar with my digital marbles, but then I thought it would be more interesting to have some of them floating around surrealistically.
The most difficult thing to do on this image (after I created the marbles) was to make my photos of the Ball jar look like it was transparent, but after playing around with it awhile, I got the right combination of color saturation and transparency to make it work. Then I added the various marbles on a layer below the jarjar layer. I also had to create a shadow for the jar that looked like there were marbles blocking the light.
i'm sorry this is so creepy

Well... I'm bored. These photos together means absolutely nothing. Though it was a nice test to use some of my photos together.
