At VFS Digital Design, we teach agile project management practices throughout the entire year. And what better way to refresh everyone's recollection of the 9 knowledge areas (scope, time, cost, human resources, procurement, risk, quality, communication and integration) than with a game!
The students were divided into four teams and briefed on a project they had just "won”. Using index cards and post-it notes the students were asked to record the goals, objectives, work breakdown structure including time allotted for major tasks, resources, and the risks of their respective projects and post them on the wall.

Using the project name of 'Archbishop', management at Ford of Britain in Dagenham created a family-sized car which they could sell in large numbers. The chief designer was Roy Brown Jr., the designer of the Edsel, who had been banished to Dagenham following the failure of that car. The car was designed to be economical, cheap to run and easy and inexpensive to produce in Britain.
The Cortina was available with 1200 and (from early 1963) 1500 four-cylinder engines with all synchromesh gearbox, in two-door and four-door saloon, as well as in five-door estate (from March 1963) forms. Standard, Deluxe, Super, and GT trims were offered but not across all body styles. Early Standard models featured a simple body coloured front grille, earning it the nickname 'Ironbar', and large, round, ‘Ban the Bomb’ tail-light clusters.
A Ford Cortina Lotus was offered only as a two-door saloon all in white with a contrasting green side flash down each flank. It had a unique 1558 cc twin-cam engine by Lotus, but based on the Cortina's Kent OHV engine. Aluminium was used for some body panels. For a certain time, it also had a unique A-frame rear suspension, but this proved fragile and the model soon reverted to the standard Cortina semi-elliptic rear end.
The MkI Cortina was replaced by the MkII in 1966.
Being October, which had always been the LUGNuts anniversary month, this Ford Cortina MkI Sedan has been built to the 43rd challenge theme 'Plus or Minus Ten' - a challenge to build a vehicle that is ten year before or after the year of the builder's birth (1972).

On February 12, 2016, President Obama signed a proclamation declaring the Mojave Trails National Monument east of Los Angeles in Southern California.
Mojave Trails National Monument: Spanning 1.6 million acres, more than 350,000 acres of previously congressionally-designated Wilderness, the Mojave Trails National Monument is comprised of a stunning mosaic of rugged mountain ranges, ancient lava flows, and spectacular sand dunes. The monument will protect irreplaceable historic resources including ancient Native American trading routes, World War II-era training camps, and the longest remaining undeveloped stretch of Route 66. Additionally, the area has been a focus of study and research for decades, including geological research and ecological studies on the effects of climate change and land management practices on ecological communities and wildlife.

A trip to Corona
Last summer, WMmaster626 Invited me to tour the El Sobrante landfill with him. We had a blast at landfill and saw some awesome refuse trucks and scenery. After the landfill tour, we went to the bottom of the hill and met Balthazar and Adam who were driving the Amrep minis (pictures on WMmaster626 channel). Both were great guys and Balthazar ironically use to not only work for Western Waste but he use to collect at Kostis house (owner of Western Waste). Unfortunately Adam and Balthazar were done for the day so we decided to look for Javier, who we saw at El Sobrante driving a really clean Wittke Curotto Le with a new Waste Management signboard. We eventually found Rudolfo who drives a Wittke/Leach Curotto Le (WMmaster626 has a Youtube video of him) and was kind enough to point us in the direction of Javier. So we eventually found Javier, who is another awesome driver who really enjoys his truck and does a great job of cleaning it regularly. Thank you WMmaster626 and all the awesome WM drivers and staff at the El Sobrante landfill. Even though it was around 100 degrees out I had a great day!
