Managed to find some Wild Garlic (ramslök if you're wondering what the Swedish name is) in an aptly named location called Wild garlic valley. Though I think I was there a tad too early and need to come back at the start of June instead as there wasn't too much on show. There were plenty of mosquitos though...
I had managed to catch a mature bald eagle's flight sequence from the time it lifted off the nest, until it had its wings fully open. This shot is two seconds before the last one of the series, Power of an Eagle (20170528-151558-PJG).
This image is not cropped, taken at 600mm, with a slight exposure correction.
Enjoy!
Taken in Moncton, NB, Canada on 28 May 2017.

Thanks for stopping by

We managed to get out and about yesterday, been feeling low so it was nice to feel the sun and fresh air. Whenever we are in Steveston we always buy a loaf of bread at Romania Country Bread. The owner built the wood-fired oven himself and is quite a character. All he makes is one type of bread and it costs ten dollars a loaf but it is fabulous. As for Win Win Chicken, haven't tried it yet :)

listening to Pachelbel's Canon played by a rubber chicken :)
Managed to capture some stunning colour just before the last of the light went for the day. I played about with shutter speeds and thought 3.2 seconds worked well in this situation. I hope you feel I got it right?
I've had a little trip to Skye recently. Not the most conducive conditions for photography, but managed to take the odd snap or two worth sharing!
Pleased to find some heather to shoehorn into my photo 😁
Managed to get myself up to Plymbridge today for a bit of a ride around the woods. Got caught in a bit of a rain storm and managed to get a quick snap of these dog walkers going for shelter under the bridge.
We had made a stop alongside Loch Shin where we had finally found calm water and some stunning reflections. In the 2-3 minutes it took to grab the gear the breeze was up and the reflections were gone. Mindful of this, when we arrived at a still Loch Stack, I raced across the marshy shore to capture not only a near perfect reflection but also some lovely fleeting light on Arkle and the foreground reeds. I managed just 3 exposures before the breeze once again returned, the water rippled and this was to be the last reflection we would capture that afternoon.
Managed to get out this morning before the snow disappears again. Stayed very local as wasn’t sure how good the roads were. The mist/fog was stuck on the higher ground, so I stayed relatively low and close to home. This was taken as I had just passed through a patch of fog, and spotted this little cluster of trees, with the sun just breaking through to give some diffused light. Liked the animal tracks leading toward the trees as well.
I managed to score one of these on eBay!
The guns are really nice. All of them look like they came straight from the movies and games.
I highly recommend them.
New figs coming soon?
Yes.
Thanks Brickarms!

We finally managed to drag ourselves away from birds, family and domestic duties and got down to Tinchi Tamba Wetlands in northern Brisbane for a walk along their quiet riverside path. Luckily also it was slightly rainy so it was peaceful and quiet. A few of the large number of kangaroos that live peacefully in the wetlands reserve were out grazing on some grass as we passed by on the boardwalk.
On the way back through the forest we came across the biggest male Eastern Grey Kangaroo (which these are also) we have ever seen. Now kangaroos in this place and the wild are usually docile and while watchful will generally retreat. But this one didn't, he stood his ground and watched us, showing off his huge muscles and appendages. So luckily we had trees between us which prevented me gettIng a shot but when they are a bit alarmed it's just best to keep a distance. Just being cautious! They rarely get unhappy with humans but on the extremely rare occasion it's best not to push boundaries. As usual, humans are far more dangerous to them.....far more than vice versa.
Finally managed to get a decent shot of this now rare localish car, its was parked outside the Ace Cafe, still taxed and MOT'd too.
I managed to scramble early to watch sunrise from the Alabama Hills in California. About 20 minutes before the sun's first rays hit the peaks of the Sierra Nevada, this neat pink/blue combination set in. Over the next 20 minutes they would completely change. There are so many great perspectives from these hills. Both formations are granite, with the foreground hills showing more weathering and soft shaping.
Panjiawan Underpass, Jiaotong Rd., Shanghai
It's a pedestrian underpass through the sprawling Shanghai Railway Station, also allowing bicycles to pass through. The underpass is set up with many steps, on either side with ramps set up, and cyclists have to get off their bikes and push them up or down. This tunnel clearly states that scooters are not allowed, with many barriers set up at the entrances at both ends. However, a number of scooter riders managed to get through the barriers to cross the underpass, which would have shortened the journey by a lot.

Managed to get the BONZA B738MAX fleet* this morning VH-UIK, UJT & UJK sitting out on the ramp on the Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY/YBSU) awaiting their launch 31 January 2023...
* 9 image stitched for the wider shots... 😉😉
Whilst the amount of rain in Scotland can be tiresome at times, it always makes for great river and waterfall photos :)
Managed to get both the ground and aerial view of CXRG's Monte Vista turn as it pulled eight hoppers from the Coors plant at Monte Vista, Colorado. The trip back to Alamosa will take about an hour, while I get a leaky tire repaired.
I managed to capture this Fox just at the moment he stuck his tongue out though I think he was licking his lips. Foxes are found throughout Britain and Ireland. In fact they are found pretty much throughout the Northern Hemisphere. British Foxes were once thought to be a different subspecies (crucigera) with smaller, more widely separated teeth. But further work has shown that dentition varies and it is highly doubtful whether British Foxes are sufficiently different to merit being called a subspecies. Though Foxes from even warmer parts of Europe seem to develop longer coats compared with British Foxes. They are highly adaptable and can occur in many different habitats feeding on a wide variety of food especially rabbits, voles, birds, beetles, worms and fruit. Foxes living in urban areas tend to scavenge for food scraps just as they do for carrion in rural areas. But they will also take live food in urban situations. The one visiting my garden is partial to peanuts.
Foxes mate in the depths of winter when the Vixen can be heard making that familiar screaming bark. Gestation is just over 50 days and the young are fully weaned at about 10 weeks. The male usually helps provision the young with food. The cubs usually associate with their mother until autumn, when they disperse to find territories of their own.
So, I managed to get out twice into the woods this weekend hoping to capture some autumnal images with the trees changing colours and perhaps do a small video about the image taking process and what nots.
Well, the thing is if you have been out of practise for a while it soon becomes apparent when you try to pick up where you left off.
I spent most of the weekend stumbling around in my wellies, slipping in the mud, and not really remembering how to use my camera!
So unfortunately I haven't really got anything to show for my efforts, so back to the archives for an image taken on the isle of Skye on the road to Elgol
I somehow managed to delete this photo by mistake this morning and as I like it, have put it back on so back to zero everything again. Never mind I'll be more careful next time.
This is the RSPB woods at Tunbridge Wells Kent, UK late in the evening. It is populated with Deer, Konik horses and goats not forgetting the foxes, rabbits and lots of birds.
A beautiful place for a long or short walk.
Photo taken with a Helios lens,
The sun managed to find an opening in the clouds after the afternoon storms had passed through bringing a beautiful warm light on the upper part of the falls and surrounding cliffs. I found this unique perspective last fall and have since wanted to go back and finally got the opportunity to go. Honestly it was so refreshing to go back out and let the Lord refresh my soul which had honestly felt so empty from how difficult things have been between my health and my work. I am thankful to live so close to so many beautiful places and for God's grace to be able to go to them and enjoy the majesty of His creativity.
She managed the pearls and the scarf, but Muriel thought she might need help clipping on the earrings. Personally, I'm just relieved she didn't find the red lipstick. :))
I bought these earrings for next to nothing in a local shop last year to use as a prop, but this is the first time they've seen the light of day. I was happy to see the theme this week!
For this week's Smile on Saturday! group theme, Earrings.
🇬🇧 After nearly 60 years of loyal service, the time has come: the NMBS/SNCB "Klassiekjes" are being retired for good. Today, December 14, marks the end of an important era in the history of Belgian railways, with a farewell run that I, unfortunately, cannot attend. MS66 660 will be the only unit preserved.
Back on 19 September I was fortunate enough to capture MS66 663 at Manage station, seen here departing working S62 E4262 to Luttre. I originally had a different spot in mind, but a recently installed fence made that impossible.
Managed to get out for a while between showers today... and finally saw some Daffodil flies (Norellia spinipes) almost a month later than last year, when I first spotted some on 09.03!
Upton Magna - Shropshire
Closer shot (viewable large) in comments, but the sun went in! She's rather gravid!!
I only managed to get a few worthy shots on this particular evening as the ball head part of my tripod had broken. Thankfully I found the same ball head at the local camera shop later on and although it was an extra expense, I couldn't really fathom the thought of being in South Island for another 2 weeks without being able to use my tripod.
I admire all you landscape photographers out there. New Zealand is so picturesque, it truly is a landscape photographers haven. I gave it my best shot but I've come to realise that I may be out of my depth as far as this genre is concerned, lol. But still, I'll keep at it.......
I managed to get back in to an abandoned factory I thought was lost forever and was secured by fences and security guards. Now it seems all the guards have gone and the gates were wide open. And who am I to refuse another chance to visit an old favourite lightpainting haunt!?
The old factory in question was a refractories facility close to Matlock in Derbyshire, England. It's about a 40 mile drive from me so not exactly local and driving all that way only to be turned away by a security guard is not an option. Especially now since fuel for my batmobile is so expensive.
Inside the factory are wide open spaces with curved roofs and long narrow corridors. It's like a playground for lightpainters since there are so many places to shoot in.
Along the first floor is a long gallery or walkway with a cool roof supporting structure. This gallery has featured in my images from here quite a bit and last night we found ourselves up on the first floor again.
For this shot I set up a gelled flashgun at the rear of frame and asked the model, @inksurgeon to stand in the middle. We set off a smoke pellet to provide background seperation behind the subject. Once happy with the main part of the image, I replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure.
I then turned on a couple of tactically placed RGB LED cubes pointed at the steelwork. I then removed the lens cap and rotated the blue lit steel structure for a total of eight ways. The camera is rotated around the lens axis and I expose each segment for a couple of seconds before rotating the camera.
Possibly a bit complicated to explain to the non-lightpainter but I can say that this image was made in one photographic exposure.
Finally managed to get out and see a few sunrises. I spent quite a bit of time just watching the colour change, the previous morning I was watching a Pod of Dolphins swimming around this lighthouse
This is the uncropped version of my Mischief Managed photo for Eclipse.
Not sure if I will manage to make a photo today (has been quite dreary of a day). I've still been processing photos from yesterday, and loved the composition of this photo felt it needed some help. So todays photo is an edited version of a previous photo.
Tadaaa! Three OOTDs I managed to create and put them in 1 picture. I kinda want to portray the "Gamer, Influencer & Boho Chic" Style :D So what Style do you prefer?

Managed to get out this morning and pay the beach a visit - this time it was Newcastle Beach, NSW; Australia.
Here I've used the rusty posts that surround what's known locally as The Canoe (or World) Pool a children's saltwater pool that is located beside the Newcastle Ocean Baths.
The sun was pretty high in the sky so it was necessary for me to use my Lee Big Stopper and Lee .9 Hard Grad filters to create this long exposure image.
Thanks again for any comments, views or favorites - hope you liked it!
Hope too that you have a wonderful week!!!
