This couple needs to be sure of their footing because if they slip off the rocks, they will be waist deep in icey cold water.

a friend of mine in usm..almost all of our frenz showed up at the wedding..causing havoc since none of the bride's relatives dare to say anything to us even if we bring down the hose..hehehe
A photograph somewhat rescued from a bad one, the ISO setting was completely wrong due to an earlier shoot (in the dark, so...) and me not thinking to check (before pointing at the sun).
I ran it through some processing techniques to hide the noise (mostly) and came up with this (and various other versions) and am quite happy with how it turned out in the end.
Not perfect, but...

As I wrap up my 100x folder for 2022, I can only think of one image which depicts what my honey and I enjoy doing most...and that is simply spending time doing what we love doing... hangin' out together in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Happy New Year everyone, and as a new years resolution for 2023 I'll make a greater effort to spend more time here. :)

Stary Rynek
While wandering through the Rynek this morning I turned the corner and at first thought these two were being attacked, but then I realized they are just getting married! Congratulations to you both. This is not my usual photo and I am not in any way a wedding photographer, but I couldn't resit shooting either........just too good to pass! Kudos to the real wedding photographer!

I am going to be posting pictures from a series of pictures I took of my husband and I in the last week or so. He just deployed to Iraq :( I am hoping to make a photo book out of these to send to him.
If you don't know about Man and Wife...you live under a rock! www.manandwife.tv for hilarious advice!
I created everything from scratch, except the photo of Shanda (it's from her website). I had hard time changing the color of the dress though. Someone please let me know the best way to change colors. For this image, I painted everything except the dress in quick mask mode to get my selection...then I changed the hue with the sliders...is there a less grueling way to get an accurate selection? *crossing my fingers...please don't say the pen tool* LOL!
"Married -- Fifty Years" I see him and his wife very often. They come to play in one of the local mercados and then passes his hat. He doesn't have a case for his accordian, and wears it when just walking around. When ever he sees me and he's singing, he heads for me with his hat. He knows I am a sure thing and easy touch. LOL
A fancy dress wedding in a Welsh cowfield, you couldn't make it up but they did and what a day it was. It was a blazing hot day in the hills surrounding Bala lake, it was a huge grazing field and in the middle a community of tents for the happy couple and guests, the day started out with everybody mingling and chatting before the cermony and the usual formalities followed by games and fun and good eating and not to forget, drinking. At one end of the tented area was the biggest barbeque I have ever seen with meat of all cuts and sizes sizzling away which kind of answered the question, why are there no animals in this field?
A few weekends ago I photographed this beautiful wedding. Still working through the photos but this is one I shared with the newlyweds on Facebook. The whole day was relaxed, beautiful and filled with love.
One laughing, amused at something, and one quite sullen. I caught them as the light rail pulled out one evening during rush hour.
I decided to keep the reflection i the glass . . . so indicative of the myriad of contrasts that I did not see lying beyond the cheerful wife and sullen husband.
Scarecrow dolls (kakashi) in Nagoro village, Iya Valley, Japan. Nagoro Doll Village is an isolated village in the highlands of Shikoku Island whose population is slowly shrinking as its residents leave for big cities in search of work. A former resident, Ayano Tsukimi, returned to her home in Nagoro where she has populated the village with dolls, each representing a former villager. Around 350 of the giant dolls now reside in and around Nagoro, modelled on residents who died or abandoned the village years ago. The dolls are dressed in the clothing of former residents and assume their previous lives as farmers, shop keepers, teachers, etc. It is fascinating to visit the village and search for all the dolls.

Painting the bond of love....a new portrait , inspired by photographs sent to the expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley by an American couple, Jerry and Janet, who have been great collectors of the artist's work; in particular his Catholic tribute paintings.
As they are devout Catholics, the painting was started on the Feast of The Most Holy Trinity and completed throughout The Feasts of The Sacred Heart of Jesus and The Immaculate Heart of Mary; during which the little heart emerged between them.
The original painting recently arrived on the East coast of the USA and the collectors emailed a happy photograph of the two of them holding the painting.
Their accompanying message to the artist : " The portrait has arrived. It brightened our day immensely! The original version is so vibrant, full of depth and energy. Thanks for sharing your artistic and spiritual gifts to capture our essence in this portrait tribute. We look forward to sharing it with our children over time as they come to visit..."
Whatley's portraits of The Prince of Wales and Princes William & Harry - commissioned by American collectors - were published in HELLO magazine in 2008 and 2011; his portrait of Princess Margaret (Private collection, USA) was published in The Times(London) and HELLO; whilst his portrait of Barack Obama was published in TIME magazine's Person of The Year issue of 2008.
Stephen B. Whatley also has a history of painting portraits from life in a single sitting and his many portrait sitters in the past 30 years include actors of stage and screen such as Frances Barber, Elizabeth Dawn MBE, Dame Judi Dench, Susan Hampshire OBE, Dame Siân Phillips CBE, Alison Steadman OBE, Dame Julie Walters, Barbara Young, Carol Royle, Virginia McKenna OBE, , Finty Williams & Dame Barbara Windsor; TV presenter Sarah Greene; comedienne & writer Jo Brand; Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year, Patsy Bloom; entrepreneur, Ivan Massow; fashion designer, Matthew Williamson; and barrister, Michael Mansfield QC.
In 2000 Whatley was commissioned to paint a series of 30 paintings for the Tower of London - all of which are permanently reproduced outside Tower Hill Station, throughout Tower Hill Underpass, as a permanent vibrant art exhibit welcoming visitors to the Tower of London.
In 2004 Stephen B. Whatley was presented to HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at a reception at the Tower of London, in recognition of his work.
