CIRCUMCISION

HORROR

BLOODSTAINED MEN

TOUGH new policies to combat fish fraud across Europe appear to be working, according to new evidence (published today).

The largest multi-species survey of fish labelling accuracy to date indicates a marked and sudden reduction of seafood mislabelling in supermarkets, markets and fishmongers in the EU.

Scientists in six European countries tracked samples of the mostly commonly consumed fish, including cod, tuna, hake and plaice, after a series of studies going back 5 years had shown mislabelling in up to 40% of cases.

It is thought that more transparent seafood supply chains can lead to more sustainable exploitation and healthier oceans. The study is part of the LABELFISH project, supported by the EU Atlantic Area Programme and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Principal Investigator Stefano Mariani, professor of conservation genetics at the University of Salford, said he was surprised at the progress made but that much remains to be investigated about the complexities of global seafood supply.

Mariani and his collaborators* carried out genetic testing of seafood sold in supermarkets, traditional markets and fishmongers in 19 European cities between 2013 and 2014, including Cardiff, Glasgow, Plymouth and Manchester, Dublin, Madrid, Marseille, Lisbon and Hamburg.

Species verification was carried out on fresh, frozen and tinned products labelled as cod, tuna, haddock, plaice, sole, swordfish, anchovy, hake and monkfish.

Of the 1,563 DNA sequence samples examined, just 77 (4.9%) proved to be mislabelled.

Most commonly mislabelled was anchovy (15.5%), hake (11.1%) and tuna (6.8%). By contrast only 3.5% of cod and 3% of haddock was mislabelled. None of the monkfish, plaice or swordfish samples was substituted with other species.

The study found little or no difference in tinned, fresh or frozen products and no significant country-associated trends.

According to the samples taken, Spain had the highest rate of incorrect labelling (8.9%), followed by Portugal (6.7%), Germany (6.2%), Ireland (3.9%), the UK (3.3%) and France (2.7%).

The study, which is published (01/12/2015) in Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, argues that the trend is due to a combination of transnational legislation, governance and public outreach, which has forced new regulation and self-regulation, and it contrasts the European ‘turn-around’ with the experience of the United States, where improvements appear more sluggish.

Professor Mariani added: “Genetic identification methods have progressively exposed the inadequacies of the seafood supply chain, raising awareness among the public, and serving as a warning to industry that malpractice will be detected.

“This evidence indicates we are now on the road to greater transparency, which should help the management of exploited stocks worldwide, but further standardised studies on a greater range of food provision channels, such as restaurants and auctions, are warranted, in order to have a complete understanding of the current state of the trade”

The research was conducted by The University of Salford, The Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas, Vigo; The Max Rubner-Institute, Kiel; Ifremer, Nantes; The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere, Lisbon and The Indigo Rock Marine Research Station, Cork.

When you claim injuries as a result of someone else's wrongdoing in New York and bring a lawsuit seeking compensation for your injuries, the defense is entitled to have you examined by a doctor of their choosing.

This is known as a "Defense medical exam," or more commonly as an "Independent Medical Exam." However, after watching this video, you'll quickly learn why there's no such thing as an "Independent" medical exam.

After having your physical exam by the defense doctor, he (or she) will generate a report and send it to the defense lawyer. The Defense lawyer is required to send a copy of report to your lawyer. Your attorney will probably send you a copy of the report.

What you read in that report will make you upset. Watch the video to learn why.

To learn about how accident cases, medical malpractice or wrongful death cases work in the State of New York, I encourage you to explore my educational website www.oginski-law.com. With less than three weeks to go before Afghans vote for a new President and Provincial Councils, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has highlighted the need for elections which are free from malpractice, including fraud, which could prejudice the results. “Any actions which erode the trust in these elections should be avoided as they, ultimately, damage the legitimacy of the future Government and Afghanistan's national interests,” said the Secretary-General’s Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and acting head of UNAMA, Nicholas Haysom, following a meeting today with the Chairperson, Dr. Ahmad Yusuf Nuristani (shown with Mr. Haysom in left and centre images) and the Chief Electoral Officer, Zia-ul-haq Amarkhail, of the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan (IEC). “With so much at stake, Afghans deserve to have elections that are inclusive, credible, transparent and free from any activity which could taint the results – this is also crucial for Afghanistan's future stability,”Mr. Haysom added. Afghanistan is slated to hold Presidential and Provincial Council elections on 5 April.

As Bingham's excavations took place on Machu Picchu, local intellectuals began to oppose the operation of Bingham and his team of explorers. Though local institutions were initially enthused at the idea of the operation supplementing Peruvian knowledge about their ancestry, the team began to encounter accusations of legal and cultural malpractice.

Considering these guys haven't had a full time acting job since 1964, they're lucky to get this gig. I also guess that dentist thing didn't work out for Hermey. I'm thinking a load of malpractice suits from disgruntled toothless elves. And Bumble The Abominable Snowman is a lot shorter than I remember.

Try as I may, I still can't buy Yukon Cornelius as Han Solo...maybe Lando, though.

honored as one of the "Ten Most Significant Buildings in the United States" by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). In 1885, architects voted Trinity Church as the most important building in the U.S.; Trinity Church is the only building from the original 1885 list still included in the AIA's current top ten list. Cosmetic plastic surgery is commonplace a large number of procedures are performed daily. With only a few snips, one's appearance may be drastically altered. You should understand that any operation connected with cosmetic work will not be taken lightly as there are risks that may have it. In the event the surgeon creates a mistake, the sufferer could have a life-long disfigurement. This post will help you to avoid that horrible situation.

Understand what you should do to prep your system for that procedure. See if you wish to remove any facial hair, as an example, or should get yourself a haircut to help make the method easier.

Ensure your surgeon has malpractice insurance to your financial safety. When a mistake is produced, you would like so that you can receive compensation to be able to hold the error fixed. Tend not to check out a surgeon who may be not properly insured they could not have insurance since their policy could be expensive as a result of past incidents.

Look at all options with regards to financing. Many surgeons offer payment plans because they know that cosmetic procedures are costly and never usually covered by insurance plans. If he doesn't, there are many choices available for people who want cosmetic plastic surgery. You simply need to see them so you do not have to cover a massive amount at the start.

Understand that all surgeries are associated with risk. Read about the risks and call your doctor about each one. This is especially important in terms of plastic cosmetic surgery, as the risks are frequently lost in the notion that the procedures are simple and easy , quick.

See credentials of everyone involved before allowing your surgery to take place with a certain facility. Read about the location's past and check out the location face-to-face ahead of the day of your own surgery to determine if it is actually acceptable. Determine if a medical facility has a record of problems linked to this process or, similarly, be it called being particularly successful.

As i have said, cosmetic plastic surgery happens daily. Relatively simple surgeries are performed as a method of altering patients' appearances. Remember, though it is cosmetic, you happen to be still undergoing surgery which may produce devastating consequences if things go awry. Prevent the dangers and upsets often connected with plastic cosmetic surgery by utilizing the advice in the following paragraphs. www.celebfancy.com/celeb-surgery-nicole_kidman_plastic_su...
