Solar Water Disinfection" SODIS
ICROSS with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland has carried out extensive research on
solar disinfection of drinking water. Our findings suggest that solar disinfection of water may
significantly reduce morbidity in communities with no other means of disinfecting drinking
water, because of lack of resources or in the event of a disaster.

Celebrating our amazing EOP Class of 2023! We take great pride in recognizing the remarkable journeys of our exceptional students. Did you know that some of our brightest minds began their CSUN adventure as special admits? EOP leaders saw their immense potential beyond high school grades and with mentoring and support these individuals blossomed into successful college graduates!
Let's also take a moment to honor and celebrate those who were part of our EOP Resilient Scholars Program, designed to provide unwavering support to former foster youth throughout their academic pursuit. These resilient individuals have proven time and again that they are true overachievers, surpassing all expectations along their journey.
As we bid farewell to the EOP Class of 2023, we couldn't be prouder of their remarkable accomplishments and unwavering determination.
ICROSS, with funding from the Global Fund, has a home based care programme where 170 volunteers care for terminally ill aids patients. ICROSS is in charge of the training of the community health workers (CHVs) and distribution of prophylaxis and nutritional supplements among other things. We quickly realised the stigma and discrimination our volunteers met, both external and internal. After close dialogue with a number of volunteers, a comprehensive stigma and discrimination workshop was tailored. The workshop was incorporated into a refresher course for our CHVs on home based care.

EECS 481 Students in EECS Professor David Chesney's course have been designing systems to make it easier for Grace Simon to communicate, play, or be more independent at school or home.
Simon was diagnosed with cerebal palsy at six months old. While Grace doesn't have the muscle control to speak, extensively sign, or walk, she has a very capable mind that can read and communicate by signaling 'yes' or 'no.'

Over the course of 4 days, May 15-18, volunteers from Qualcomm, local residents, business owners, and artists will converge in the alleyways to take part in their transformation by painting murals, installing signage, marking pathways, installing lights, weeding and planting, and a variety of other designs as determined by the community. This event will culminate into a series of block parties in each project location, featuring music, food, and guest speakers.

SINGAPORE - COASTAL CLEAN UP. Our Singapore team rolled up their sleeves, braved the heat and give back to the community by spending a day picking up litter - cigarette butts, plastic utensils, plastic bottle, lids, etc…) and record what they've collected. The data collected during the International Coastal Clean-up will be used to raise awareness & create solutions to the problems of marine waste and litter.
A view of a road from the Moyale border towards Mega Town on the Ethiopian side of the Nairobi- Addis Road corridor. Funded by the African Development Bank Group the 'Mombasa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa Road Corridor Project' has been developed to ease the transportation issue of that region. The project will contribute to poverty reduction in both the countries by increasing access to markets and social services for the surrounding areas, communities and by empowering women.
